With today’s changes the trait Fresh Air got slightly buffed so my question is: Is it worth, in terms of dps/survivability, as a staff user to go for the Fresh Air trait to constantly overload air while adding a lava font between swaps ?

Tried it. Died instantly to Reaper.

I won a Signet warrior though.

I don’t think so. Mainly because if you’re playing fresh air you are spending most of your time in air attunement, and the staff air skills have extremely poor dps. D/W works well as fresh air because the dagger auto and the warhorn 5 give decent damage to fill the time while you wait for air overload.

Bolt to the Heart – which you are dropping to take fresh air – is also an extremely powerful trait, and with staff you will have much better dps just camping fire and then swapping to other attunements if you need their utility.

It’s not really useful with staff. But for dagger/warhorn tempest it’s really good.

i played a bit of fresh air today but with s/f using mender amulet.

its pretty decent id say.

If we talking about pve, it is probably now possible to have around same dps with fresh air staff as normal fire staff. But you will use use LH too.

Doesn’t seem too beneficial for the staff tempest indeed, although it sounded nice in theory. Oh well back to my bolt to the heart.
