Frustrating things about scepter
Holding a magical weapon (like a scepter) doesnt nessicarily mean that the magic comes directly from the scepter, its the same with staff skills I believe. Lightning strike and blinding flaah are similar because soms people (like me) like spamming as many Lightning bolts as humanly possible on our target (fresh air, sigil of air). I think water 3 is way better than the other water skills.
Dragon Tooth is good area denial. Good when you have a stealthed theif waiting to backstab you, or just holding a point.
The main problem with scepter is the kitten autoattack. I mean, look at Air 1.. You expect me to channel a few seconds for a mere 1k+ damage?

This. The Scepter’s skills are all really useful and flexible (except Shatterstone, which is still just awful), but the autoattacks are extremely underwhelming and they rob the weapon of all potential sustained damage.
Fire 1 needs to be faster, Water 1 needs to do something other than damage (the suggestion I most like is for every 3rd projectile that hits to heal you a little), Air 1 needs more payoff and better visuals, and Earth 1 needs… something.

If you say all skills are really good except AA and Shatterstone (also Rock Barrier and Dust Devil aren’t really that useful), then you’re left with about half good skills and half horrible skills, which imo is quite bad for a mainhand weapon.

Eh, it has enough remaining good skills so that you can spend your time dancing around and emptying cooldowns. You don’t have to sit and autoattack all that much, though the weapon would be improved greatly if you could (and I don’t disagree that it’s a weaker mainhand weapon than Dagger — I just prefer it anyway).
Also, I disagree on Rock Barrier and Dust Devil. The Toughness from Rock Barrier is noticeable in some fights, but the combo skill, Hurl, is also quite strong as well. The damage is pretty high and each rock counts as a separate Projectile finisher, so tossing them through the right combo field can give you some pretty sweet effects. Dust Devil isn’t the most amazing skill in the world, but its casting time is very short and a quick AoE Blind is nothing to scoff at.

What the Scepter need is better AAs. Especially air auto attack sucks.
I must say that i dont like the earth skills at all.
