Gearing question for Elementalists.
my vote is condition.
condition will bump power as well so you do more condition damage and regular damage. at least that is what it appeared to be for me.
Knights.
Power, Prec, Toughness. Dead ele’s do 0 dps after all. Also, staff is pretty low on condition damage since all of it’s condition applicators are on cooldowns and there’s only 2, in two separate elements.

So Knight’s makes sense to me… but can we take this further? I’m looking for similar info – I’m level 73, so I’ll be looking at expensive gear soon and want to be sure I’m going after the correct stuff..
Staff build with a target spec of 0/10/0/30/30

If you want to go support, clerics jewelry is certainly a good choice.
I myself am contemplating on going clerics armor, with offensive jewelry and runes, knights or berserkers.

So doing some more research on this and I’m starting to think I shouldn’t waste any stats on +healing…

Not necessarily true, you may still want to put some points in healing, not too much though.

I’m kind of curious about this as well. It seems to me that condition is not really worth it with staff. Scepter/dagger would benefit from it much more. I’m currently running a mix of Valkyrie/Knights with the same build you’re looking at (which does seem to be our best dungeon build). 1600~ Vit, 1300~ toughness, 1300~ prec, and 1800+ power. I’m going for the Power/Toughness/Vitality gear at the moment but it almost doesn’t seem necessary as I have a lot of survivability as it is. I currently put out a reasonable amount of damage and have tons of support options. I really don’t see how condition would benefit this build much at all (though I could be wrong of course). My heals also seem sufficient with just the stats from Water and none on my gear, though I haven’t played around with it much.
This thread is an excellent read and might help you come to a better conclusion: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/64113-condition-damage-vs-critical-damage/page__st__30
I’d still be interested in hearing from more players on the topic though.
Thanks for all the responses. Clearly there is still some debate but I think between what is here and my own ideas and theory work I have enough to make a reasonably informed decision on future gearing.
