This will be a general discussion about our newest weapon set, nothing really excessive, the set has both pro and cons like any other set but….it’s the functionality that I’m really not happy about.

I do not expect much support from PvE crowd as really the set it’s ok for PvE, no there, the problems occurs in the other game modes where the set happens to be too slow in my opinion to excel at any particular role.

I understand the basic idea behind ele warhorn, a mix of Dagger OH ( mobility with cyclone and healing ) and focus ( reflect, 2n fire field, 2 CC skills ); the problem is the implementation.

Taking in consideration the CD on other weapon set, I guess warhorn is balanced, what it’s not balanced are the casting time and speed of the animation:

Cyclone
- 1s cast time is too much for a CC skill on a weapon set devoid of blocks and invulnerability, CC should be your main defense, it’s way too long, max it should be 3/4s cast time
-The animation is super super slow, I mean people can literally walk out of the draft animation

Tidal Surge
- The CD is huge, 30s should max
- The animation starts from behind the caster and take several secs to hit anything at mele range, again people can safely sidewalk

About the rest, I have many suggestions but I suspect they would end up making the warhorn far too strong, so for now I’d like to see what other people think about.

I won’t lie, I vouched for the warhorn at the beginning but since then, other professions have seen “huge” buffs. At this point I don’t think that the set offers anything peculiar, you’ve got neither the survival tools or the dmg of other weapon sets as such the viability of those water field heals becomes questionable at best

The warhorn was designed for frontline wvw and balanced around that. That is why some of the skills are slow.

Lol… I’m not being sarcastict but I had forgot we have a warhorn untill I read this post. Could be that I’m playing mostly other classes but still, is sad that the warhorn is so useless that I forgot about his existance

Warhorn wasn’t bad back when you shared all boons and could stun break a ton. They nerfed those aspects and left a useless weapon

A D/W build with Tempest Defense, Lightning Rod, Tempestuous Aria traits and Shouts has potential in keeping enemies Weakened for quite some time. This helps your team because it lowers incoming damage and also heavily punishes reckless dodging. Been having fun with it in hotjoins. Also running Gale Song, but I’m not convinced it’s better than Unstable Conduit yet.

I totally agree that Water 4 and Air 4 DEFINITELY need to activate MUCH faster and do their CCs MUCH quicker. I absolutely hate watching a target WALK AWAY from these skills in melee range.

And Tempestuous Aria NEEDS a Shout cool down reduction feature added to it. It competes with Invigorating Torrents and Harmonious Conduit, so it wouldn’t be OP.

Side-note: Tidal Surge+Water Globe+Burning Speed+"Aftershock!" makes me feel like a total baws when I can pull it off :p
