Geomancer's Freedom change
that, too.
Dodge-roll breaks immob, cripple and chill on you. Immobilize cannot be re-applied to you for 1 second after you dodge roll.
We already have the ability to lose any condition on a dodge roll. It’s called evasive arcana. Surely it’s 30 points in arcana though, but instead of spending 20 points in earth, im sure you can go 30 in arcana instead.
Anyways, personally i wouldn’t really want to waste my dodge to lose an immobilize condition. Besides, i can easily use #4 on my staff air attunement and lose it too.
Geomancer’s freedom is something i see that’s useful if you also gear for it. Together with melandru runes and poultry food, the duration of those 3 conditions is almost non existant.
So in short, it’s good the way it is.
Of course a buff is always welcome, like a specific boon (regen, swiftness or protection etc) when 1 of these conditions is applied to you with a 10 sec cooldown.

An idea I had for Geomancer’s Freedom was to take the name literally to it’s effect and to improve utility and survival, thus removing more pressure to go into water. If I had it my way, the trait would be something like this:
“Attuning to earth will remove crowd control effects like immobilized, cripple and chill.” (This would be very strong in pvp, maybe even too strong. So it will prob even get a cooldown on top of it.)
A simple 33% less duration isn’t good enough compared to other earth traits, making this one (afaik) not so popular. Of course in an ideal world all traits would be good and you’d have a hard time choosing traits in general…

BUT, while you’re attuned to earth, Evasive Arcana really wouldn’t do you any good. More than likely you’d probably be using Evasive Arcana for the cleansing wave, and also don’t forget the 10 sec icd.
IMO Stop, Drop, And Roll is a little more like what I said, but it only clears chill and burning on a 10sec cd.
An ele has many ways to lose conditions already and Geomancer’s Freedom is the only trait that works with a reduced duration for conditions applied to you as far as i know.
Believe it or not, but my ele actually uses Geomancer Freedom. Together with melandru runes and poultry food im basically immune to chill, immobilize and cripple. And the condition duration on any other is shorter by a lot. This all helps me greatly. Without geomancer’s freedom i’d go with another build, with more focus on losing conditions through cleanse.
So in short, geomancer’s freedom is actually a trait that gives build diversity. If geomancer’s freedom is changed to the way you described, i’d doubt many would get it since the water traits already gives many ways of losing conditions anyway.
They should simply merge geomancers freedom with the protection on aura trait, earth V.
I think Geomancer’s Freedom is a great trait as is. It gives eles who run light on cleanse another avenue to sustain. It would be nice if it would provide regen and come down to the adept tier to mirror Dogged March, but really, that’s not even necessary.
Thief | Mesmer | Elementalist
Instead of cripple, chill and immobilizing conditions being reduced by 33% (because warriors have the same trait but better and as an adept)
I always wondered Warrior Trait why it is adapt and more powerful.

i have never used the trait at all for Ele because it really wasn’t that good imo. in pve/wvw maybe, but investing 20 points instead of 10 like warrior can is a little cheap.
