I think if you really want pets you should make a necro, at which point you will start to hate your pets that are off studying the local geology rather than killing stuff.

I would like it to be persistent pet as well, with a way to dismiss it, or change it’s attunement.
different proffessions, different mechanic, its same w guardian, so pls.
I’m not asking for a “pet” like ranger which can be summoned/dismissed, that’s just dumb for ele.
Just the fact that the summon could stay around until it’s killed – like the flesh golem
The ele summon is different from the flesh golem because you can’t command/control it with a skill.
Guardian summons are just spirit weapons, they aren’t creatures so they aren’t included as a type of “pet”
I’m fine with it the way it is. If you need a lore explanation, perhaps summoned elementals burn energy more quickly than minions do, which have the remains of a biological system, or perhaps they’re more unstable than naturally-occurring elementals, and collapse quickly.
But, ultimately, it’s a game mechanic, possibly to make the classes more distinct. It’s not a bug that needs fixing; it’s just different.
Although, since you said that you can’t command/control it with a skill, as of today, you can. The Glyph of Elementals skills now replace themselves with a command skill.
Only problem I have is the cast time for the “new” abilities is a bit too long so it is hard to make use of the ability in a more strategic way (which is what I assume making the abilities activatable was supposed to do). It makes me almost see the change as a slight nerf.
