My Brand New Shiny Stream

Ello guys, Godmóde from Team Paradigm here.

Being one of the few eles who has faith in our ability without a staff (kinda) feel free to have a watch of my stream.

Streaming weekends and most week day evenings.

Had two games this morn finishing 495 – 500 on khlyo with pugs, if I’m not streaming this is defo worth a watch under videos/highlights.

One with Air? That’s an odd choice.

Attunement by attunement the highest dps for this build, as sceptor being the only dps weapon I use, untraited is in air. Having this maxed out just means I crit more, get more crit damage % (which with the divinity runes makes the build playable, otherwise I’d do no dps), have lower cd on my air cd’s (air 2 hurts) and also have perma swiftness with the “One with Air” trait.

No reason for me to spec this into fire as I’m only in fire to use phoenix and Dragon tooth after my knock down from air and auto swap out, even then the +power and +condition duration is terrible for me as a passive from maxing out fire.

You can however spec this a bit more into earth, as the traits in there are pretty nice, but I like having the utility of both the water tree and +10 in Arcane tree.

However – on your build.

You gain swiftness when you attune to air for 11 seconds. After that you’ll drop to 5% MS speed from OwA.
You have to sit in air for a further 40 seconds to get back up to 25%. In that time you could have swapped out of air and back into it 3 times. and gained access to all your other skills.

Except for PvE running around maps, that trait is pretty useless.

Who not grab Quick Glyphs and grab GoEH. With QGs its more healing per second than SoR AND it gives you access to another regen = another condi remove, as well as protection, more swiftness or might (bleugh).

In either case Lightning Flash is a far better choice than Cleansing Fire since its a lower CD and can be used on almost every map to initiate or escape, and gives you the mobility you’ve kinda lost from using the Focus.

Sure, you lose the condi removal of CF, but you still remove a condition with LF, and you have TONS of condi removal. Like seriously heaps.

Personally.. I believe scepter/focus should be a point holder with more in earth/water. It has massive ranged damage denials/invul, but it lacks in mobility compared to daggers.

@Anylon – yeah I agree with lightening strike on that, personal preference on having cleansing flames as an “oh crap” button and it just ensures that vs condition builds/classes that I have an advatnage with removal. But yes it could easily be swapped out.

The Heal signet is personal preference and arguable whether traiting glymphs is better. I used glymphs in beta until it was nerfed by 4 seconds(ish) and switched to this as I think over a 20 second period (glphyms traited down to) I still do more healing over that 20 seconds + I have the signet heal for 3-4k if I really need it. better IMO but either works fine.

@DiogoSilva – Although the community morale is down regarding the elementalist, it’s definitely one of the hardest classes to play well compared to certain builds/classes everyone has grown to hate. I would say that we’re not in a terrible place, and although I feel we may be a little bit below average and due some sort of a slight buff, it’s classes which have been buffed a lot since beta (aka mesmers/thiefs) who need the slight nerf. I’m probably biased to saying we need a slight buff, but in all honesty, as long as certain classes get slight changes, you’ll see a change in the community and we may all see light at the end of the tunnel.

Agreed on the state of the ele.

We’re not in an awful spot, and some of the recently buffed classes are still not quite meta’ed against and i doubt the will be. They and we dont need huge changes, but some fixes would be nice.
