Guild Wars 2

After quite some time playing the Elementalist class, I came up with what is perhaps an optimal WvW PvP build for solo-play. I realize everybody has a play-style preference, but this build is definitely worth giving it a try! It combines what would usually be a bursty daggers setup with some survivability and a lot of utility, making you a nearly unstoppable cannon of destruction.

What kind of gear you rolling with?

I assume you mean Cleansing Wave for your water trait? Cleansing Water is grandmaster. Also, that character builder is very outdated. I’d recommend this one or at least this.

Since I tried this build for a few hours, I noticed a good boost in damage that normally is lacking. Grab three of each power+20% might durability, power again and you will do fine damage. The build has worked better for me than any other so far, and I’ve tried a lot.

The OPs build seems to be lacking a bit here and there. The 20% stun/knocked down bonus damage only grants you a bonus for like a few seconds very rarely. Not a good feat tbh.

Seems to work for him though. There is room for personal preferance tweaking.

Yeah, to each their own. I love that there is a ton of possibilities. The feat I just mentioned just stuck out to me as having little use in general. Glad that it doesn’t cost anything each time you change your build. Imagine the cost…

Love it so far… armor earth and arcane shield at 50% and 25% health helps a LOT with survivability. I never stay in any attunement for more than 5 seconds or so. I blow all of my cooldowns then switch to the next attuement (usually i go Air→ fire→ earth → water). Having lower cooldowns in all 3 of the damage dealing attunements increases my burst damage more than any other traits. Especially since our cooldowns are all ridiculously long (45 seconds for fire grab… really?) The 10% fire damage trait is only there because all of the other ones suck for that slot, and fire IS my main damage dealer.

Meh since people are sharing their builds, I shall share mine too. Its current version anyway.

Signet D/D build I use with varying degrees of success in WvWvW and sPvP. Using similar gear in WvW (mixture of cleric and carrion)

Spare util I am constantly testing, Edging towards arcane blast for a bit of ranged dmg and mini nuke.
Fire signet I could not swap really as the burn is another strong ranged attack for if im being kited. And ofc the earth signet immobilize get me back to my target asap (along with RTL and blazing speed etc)

+Lots of healing
+Can fight multiple players comfortably (both spvp and wvw)
+Lots of condi removal
+Great solo or in a team

-Little/no burst

Been to pretty much 1v1 anything with this spec (or at least run away from some ultimate’s) and 2v1 isn’t too uncommon either, 3v1 in WvW.

I chose tornado as I feel it is our only useful PvP ultimate. spamming 3 in a big group or on a capture point for contant AOE knockdown causes soo much chaos to a group to not be used.
despite this I see people use elemental elite for it to die a few seconds later to aoe. In fact, tornado is one of the reasons for us winning so many group fights in WvW. Flank and disrupt!
