Has anyone had success with Tempestuous Aria?
I… haven’t really used it in PVE. The big thing is that it is exclusive with harmonious conduits, and the stun break + temp damage buff is surprisingly useful in HoT. I just blast fire fields to give group might.
There just isn’t any reason to take it.
If you running pure shouts, the vigor and regen is much stronger in PvP than might and weakness. This is more true for staff, because Earth, which is the attunemnt you typically go into in PvP for things like Stoneheart to mitigate damage, has weakness built into it’s auto attacks
If you are running Tempest in PvE, 9 times out of 10 it’s going to be focused on the overloads for damage and the stability on overload is much more valuable.
If you were running a support auramancer in PvE, it has value I suppose for might stacks, but there isn’t a whole lot of situations in PvE where that kind of build gives a group value over a straight up dmg dealer.
I’ve had a hard time justifying taking it because the other two traits (especially Invigorating Torrents) are just so good.
You need the stability in the HoT zones, because Anet gave every mob and their mum a zillion knockbacks and stuns.
Tempestuous Aria is a worse shout trait than Invigorating torrents. One of the primary issues is that, unlike warrior shouts and guardian shouts, ele has shouts on unreasonably long CD’s, so you don’t get that great of uptime on weakness, and its good for maybe 4 stacks of might on average. Also, ele doesn’t exactly need MORE ways to share might.
Unfortunately in my experience this trait is completely overshadowed by Invigorating Torrents and Harmonious Conduit so, no from me.
I am running + condition time and use it. But i agree that Invigorating Torrents and Harmonious Conduit are extreme good. I would add the 20% CD reduction to Tempestuous Aria.
Its not at all a BAD trait, but the other 2 traits in the line are just so much better. Of particular note is Invigorating Torrents, since that basically directly competes with Tempestuous Aria since almost all shouts also have auras attached to them. So its basically an alternative shout trait, with similar uses (weakness and regen / vigor are both handy in staying alive better). But it has the advantage of also working with no less than 1 other skill on every weaponset, more on some, and some other traits as well. Where Aria is 100% shout-based and nothing else.
They probably should have ditched Latent Stamina, put Tempestuous Aria at the Adept level, and came up with something more unique for a Master level trait. TA would be a lot more competitive there.
Currently in aura builds it looses against Invigorating Torrents. The 20% CD reduction would make people think of it :-). Much better then giving it as Adept where it would stack with Invigorating Torrents which might shoot shouts off the roof.
