So I have been leveling up an ele now and it’s level 52 and I have played around with various things on it but can’t seem to get it down. I have looked and looked for any builds on ele that are decent but the sites I go to never seem to have good ratings for ele’s builds and I am feeling really lost not sure how to play my character.

Does anyone know of any GOOD sites with actual good builds on it? So that I can have an idea of how people play their ele’s?

Hello,
I am level 80 and I have the same problem. Soo many builds with no explanation for gear or how to use spells.

I’m trying to find build which is good for PvE and for basic dungeons: CoF, TA, Fractals (max 15). With good explanation for gear, runes, traits, weapons and spells.

I have big mess in ele.

I am glad to have someone in the same spot, I mean not glad that your ele is a hot mess but glad that I am not alone. I have an 80 warrior, which is easy peasy, and then I rolled an engineer which I got to 80 and while it was different I was able to find a good build for it, but ele…. Idk, I was excited about playing it but I am having so much trouble finding what to focus on, or what I should do.

since your not 80 yet, i would say:

1) put all your traits into arcana. The best way to get familiar with all your abilities and jumping around attunements is getting your attunment cooldown as low as possible.

2) since your not 80 yet, i wouldn’t invest too much in gear. If you find you’re dying a lot, get vita/toughness gear. If you have no problem with dying, get power/crit.

For a lvl 80, the cookie cutter right now seems to be bunker builds 0/0/10/30/30, with power/vita/toughness gear. 30 in arcana for evasive arcana and lower attunement cd, and 30 in water for vita/healing/condition removal. This build is nice because it makes you very hard to bring down and gives you a lot of wiggle room while your still learning how to optimize your offensive abilities.

You might want to search through the ele forum archives. I’m pretty sure there are a good amount of builds listed.

I suggest u to avoid 30pt in water … if u want to live long , in my opinion something like 0,0,30,10,30 is better. This is because with earth u have protection but u have conditional damage too while stay in water u have less damage

I dunno why anyone would say avoid water. Thats pretty much the primary tree that almost all your cookie cutter builds put 30 into. Especially for leveling getting basically what’s a free heal and regen and condition removal just for switching to water.

Personally I think you could throw 30 points in water and everything else wherever you want and do just fine for leveling.

Low level eles are almost always glassy, at least from what i experienced. In s/tPvP 90% run 0/10/0/30/30 or 25 in air^^ We eles possess huge burst and high dmg abilities but lack survivability.

Use a dagger offhand for pve it’s our strongest weapon! You guys could check daphoenix’s D/D build out he has an awesome guide to get you started.

I agree with Coldviper. water is imo not bad, surly not bad when leveling.

thing is I’d like to know what wapon you prefer to use before giving a viable build.

why d/d?
I can’t say d/d is the way to level. I’d even disagree with this comment. But D/D is a very versatil, yet very survival related wapon choice.

It give you buch of aura, which give you many healing, give bunch of combo finisher, and do decent damage.

custom skill:
I’ve used 3 cantrip, with the reason: dead dps is no dps.
Lightning Flash is a offencive as a defencive skill: you can use this to escape from an attack, but you can also jumping in a combat while channelling a skill.

why signet healing:
as a d/d you’re 99% tapping on your keyboard, instead of braindead auto attacking….which means you’ll have a super cool regen with this healing skill.

ultimate skill:
I like the golem, due your leveling, so sometimes you’re squichy. And sometimes, you just want that a little more tank for you.

trait:
I use 0/10/0/20/20
10 air: give you swiftness and extra change in crit. (not explaination needed I suppose)
20 water: water give you extra HP, which is required as a super squichy easy to kill ele cough. But most important thing is you’re able to cleanse your condition, “AND” give you and your team extra healing. The mayor trait I’d suggest to add cleanse condition, and other wheither lower CD on cantrip, or regen when use cantrip.
20 arcane: give -4sec cooldown on chaging atumement,which is awsomesaus! mayor trait I’d like the V which give your some cool stuff when changing attument. Other trait, you can choose by yourself: more running speed, more vigor regen, etc

so…we still got 20 point over…you noob!
well that’s the point you can use by yourself.
10 in arcane to get -6sec cooldown + arcane evasive (recommended)
10 earth and choose V, you got like 2-3 aura.
10 fire: for more dmg output, and I’d choose IV or V for some extra burning
or you can also go pro and awsome as me, and using the 5point minor trait combination (I’m testing this out, so can’t give full explanation yet)

gear wise:
I’ve used AC gear (thgn, vit, pwr) because I was still not so good at attumenent switching, etc etc and was afraid to die.
Now I go full berserck, and I’m one of the last that go down (and yes I do damage, not hidding in a corner)

Playstyle:
I’d start on air, and use 4 dashing combat
2 and/or 3 for weaken them and get more crit.
5 to interupt them, and escape if nessecary
change to fire
3 to dash in again
4 extra fire dmg
2 to burn
5 BAM! heavy hit! it’s super effective!
change to water
2 to do slow enemy (optional)
3 aura for more crit (see trait air)
change to earth
4 to interupt
2 starting you bleed
5 for another heavy hit with some 8stack of bleeding
here start the repeat

pro’s recommendation:
when you’re used to use your ele, you can start to change your playstyle, to attept your situation.
ea: more to water attuement for healing
ea: earth 5 is still on cooldown

your custom skill
use armour of earth when using earth 5 to prefent knockdown
use lighitng flash with earth 5 if foo runs away. => awsomesaus!

conclusion:
This is one of the most basic build for an ele, which is also a very veratile build, with survival.

Try to learn switching attuement, that’s what ele are.
Else go choose necro! >:0 (no offending to necro’s, if you feel offended, sorry)

This is one of the most damaging build I’ve ever see, and I do enjoy the big numbers on the screen.
But I think my ally didn’t enjoy rezzing me. one or another reason, when you go to hammer build you get the full agro.
