K so I have been dueling a signet necro for the past 30 minutes or so and he has beat me all but 1 time. Im not coming on here to complain of something being over powered or something I just want to know how to beat them. Im not dying to like a stupid necro, because we all know that 90% of the necros in pvp are freaking idiots. I want to know how to beat the good ones. The problem is that almost all of my burst skills are applying burning, and my condi removal is applying burning, but necro has that stupid condi transfer, and Im not really sure how to get around that while still doing damage. I cant really help but put tons of burning on him. I cant dodge the condi transfer because it has no animation and its unblockable if I remember correctly. So what do I do? If I try to play the long fight, I die, and If I play the fast and “in your face” fight, I die in like 3 seconds.

TL;DR How do I beat a signet Necro with their condi transfer, without sacraficing my own burst

Funny, I was using a signet build with my necro but didn’t feel that powerful. I switched to minions again and I’ve demolished every ele I’ve come across. Is it just the condi transfer that’s killing you?

But signet necros dont run condition gear. They tend to run celestral gear. And with that Lifeblasts/dagger autos are enough to deal with the diamond skin trait. Also i dont think dire gear is available in Spvp.

The signet necro is specialized to wreck spec with high boons e.g. ele.

It’s like diamond skin vs condition.

It’s a rock scissors paper game. Plus necro is much better at condition management now (which it always was supposed to be), you won’t end up having an easy condi burst against good necro anymore.

I have been playing this build for a while too and condi or power, it’s a pretty good spec against the usual meta like engi/ele/gd with high boon generation. Basically, for every boon you generate, you are generating more risk for yourself.

I’m more surprised at how few people are still running it. but i guess it takes time to be popular.

Advice would be to generate boon wisely. The traditional button mashing with 10 boons into the fight is a bad idea against signet necro.

It’s not going to be a 50/50 ratio here ever with a standard D/D Ele build because it is designed to crush boon spammers which ele,engi, and guard are at the top of that list and consequently signet necro counters all of them. Engi has the best chance here if they run a high burst build because that build would also have good CC so it can eat through DS at range.

You could put on a focus and try that, but it will end up being a longer fight, the Necro is favorited here if he is at least decent.

I brought this build up before I was running it not to long after the patch dropped on my Necro. People kept saying the Ele is to OP yada yada and I never had a problem with them on my Necro running this build and stability → fear conversion was bugged then. It isn’t now so the fight is even more in the Necro’s favor. I think some of the life steal traits are still bugged too so it will get even better in this particular matchup.
