Cleansing fire cantrip, switch to water with the V trait in water, mistform to avoid damage until the immobilize runs out, there are many ways eles can survive this condition.
Well I find blowing mistform just for this kind of a waste, since its cd is so long :/
Water V as I mentioned in my OP just removes one condition, which could be something else than root.

If you read my post I mentioned Cleansing Fire, a cantrip, it cures 3 conditions, including immobilize, so unless you have 4+ conditions on you including immobilize, this utility will work, it also breaks stun. If you invest enough into water it can also grant you regen and vigor, and if you combine this with the 30 point trait which cleans conditions when you give regeneration buffs, then you will cure 4 conditions when you use Cleansing Fire.
Teleport will get you out of the ranger immobilize. Cleaning fire works. Or if you’re D/D switchign to water and using #5 will get rid of the majority of your conditions.
It’s interesting that teleport breaks root although it only says that it breaks stun, while mist form says so too but doesn’t break root.

Yeah. Wind 4 Staff is surprisingly very good. I didn’t think much of it for battle before but its great when you get immmobilized or crippled. It’s almost always off CD for me in battle too.
I know armour of earth prevents CC skills such as immobilisation, but do they break immobilisation?

armor of earth (and stability in general) don’t prevent CC skill… it only prevent stun, daze, pushback e knockdown… while chill, cripple, fear, adn immobilize are applied as normal… read the toolptip it is clearly explained
PS: note that even if daze disable effect is prevented by stability it’s interrupt component is sill applied

If you’re playing staff, this should be your go to spell when your movement is impaired unless you really don’t want to switch to air it’s on cooldown. It will remove any and all movement impairing effects (not counting stuns as those will also prevent you from using most skills) not just roots.
If you’re using a different weapon set then you’ll have to go the condition removal route (unless I’m forgetting some other spell that specifically removes movement impairing effects). Luckily, elementalists can spec into some pretty ridiculous amount of condition removal.
