I logged in this morning and was so excited to see a big patch, but after reading the patch notes, what a disappointment. As an elementalist, there are so many broken spells and such that they should of fixed that before fixing the changes to the profession that they did. Absolutely absurd.

What amused me the most was that the Warriors rush was fixed when used on running targets, while Ride the Lightning/Magnetic Grasp also have issues with moving targets but those are just ignored it seems.

Probably would have taken one of the guys 3 seconds to change the number from 900 to 1200 or somekitten.

We have one of the most up and buggy classes i ever see in a mmorpg. They fixing very important things like “Glyph of Renewal: Resurrection effects of Earth, Fire, and Water now surround the caster, not the target” Just NC!!
My first al last 50+ euros at this company.

Working in the IT field, i know how difficult these things can be. Fixing one thing may cause another to act up. That’s just the nature of programming. These guys are working day in and day out to provide patches and updates NEARLY every day. With each fix, extensive testing needs to be done to see if any other bugs pop up. Little by little, things will be fixed, including our buggy skills. Also, do consider that there are other issues that are of higher priority. Anet has been very active in stomping out exploits and increasing the quality of general gameplay. For that, I applaud them.

tl;dr: Fixing things take time. Understand that.

Um, to me it looks like they made some changes to ALL the professions, basically.

We did get our elite skill for water combat, which is nice. More of a bug fix than a buff, but I’ll take it.

Still going to avoid underwater combat on the ele, though.

I thought those were more of fluid changes for Warrior/Guardian. It’s nice that Guardian’s traits were merged to match Warrior’s…not that I know anyone who actually uses those traits…

Actually it just became a little bit better.

Yes 100-50% got nerfed. But the 50-25% now does the same damage that you would take from 66-33%, and 25%-0% does 33-0%.
Changes? Its starts doing its damage on LOWER hp than it did before. So instead of having say 7k hp before they start hitting 5k each hit, you’re only going to have 5k.

Once you hit 50% hp, its still gunna be HS spam, only you now have lower HP and they are hitting just as hard.

Fact: Bugs need to be rectified before balance changes

weird quote bug… anyway:

your math is bad. It got nerfed.
Instead of doing crappy damage for only a third of the time (33% of your hp), they’re doing it for 50% of your hp. Thus, probably an extra 1-2 abilities before the damage goes up. The ‘killing blow’ won’t occur until 25% hp instead of 33% hp, which is also a plus. Effectively, this means it will take more initiative to get you dead, hopefully more initiative than they have at their disposal, giving you a chance to get a heal off, which then will take you out of the ‘killing blow’ hp range.
