I was wondering where you guys bind your attunement swap keys (as well as those for other skills and whatnot) for most efficient use in combat. I want to redo a lot of my bindings, which will take a while to acclimate too but will be helpful overall for pvp scenarios. I play gw2 on a macbook pro, so I’m limited to that kind of keyboard (its not as bad as it sounds I promise!) so the f1-4 keys don’t even work for interacting with the game sicne their used for other things by the computer overall. So I moved them to the keys for ; ’ [ and ], which works pretty well but I have trouble not hititng enter or delete which opens up a chat message of some sort, so I can’t do anything for a few critical seconds when that happens. Additionally I also need to rebind a few other things, because I’m so sick of accidentally pressing b or g when trying to press v to dodge, and then messing everything up because 2 giant popups block my vision.

So what bindings do you use and what would you reccomend for my type of keyboard?

English keyboard:
RDFG=move
Z=jump
SpaceBar=Dodge (mash it!!)
3456=attunements
S=Heal
ETVBN=skills
YHX=utilities
J=utlimate
W=next enemy
Q=sheath weapons

And you can bind many keys around this area for other stuff

Thanks Zelhyn! I’m going to try this out! it looks way easier to go everything, so hoepfully I can get used to doing S/D burst combos again with this set up!

I use a Macbook pro as well. I’m not sure if you know this, but you can change your function settings so that the f1-f12 work in GW2, and the other functions (adjusting brightness, volume, etc) work when you include the fn button (basically the opposite of default setting).

Here’s how:

In the Keyboard tab of the Keyboard & Mouse preferences in System Preferences, select the “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” checkbox. Uncheck the box to return to the default setting.

q= left strafe e= right strafe
c= heal
alt+a= fire
alt+s= water
alt+d= air
alt+w= earth
12345= attacks
alt+c= utility 1
alt+q= utility 2
alt+e= utility 3
mouse 4= elite
This is a windows English keyboard. It works great for me.

I don’t think using alt-keys would be a very good idea for me! I’m very spastic.

F4=earth attunement (you can change this hotkey Idk where else to put it takes a little time to get used to)

I’m using:
WASD for Movement
Q, E, R, F, M5 for weapon skills
Shift+Q, E, R, F for Fire, Water, Air, Earth attunement

M3 for swap weapon/drop item
Shift M3 for sheath weapon

Still very much WIP, I am very new to the game. It seems very comfortable so far.

W = forward , Q = Left strafe , E = Right strafe , S = Back
A,D,R = Utility Skill’s, were R is always Lightning Flash
1-4 = Attunement’s
F = Area Loot
C = Auto Run
V= Dodge (normally i double Tap Q, W , S or E for dodges)
Space = Jump

Mouse Razer Naga Hex
Mouse1-Mouse5 = Weapon skill’s (Thumb side of mouse)
Mouse 6 = Elite or Swap weapons
Mouse7-Mouse8 = Target nearest , Target next or reverse turn for quick burning retreat when using staff (below mouse wheel)
Mouse Wheel press = Heal
Mouse Wheel = Zoom in/out

WASD to move (I only use turning; no strafe) actually I only use strafe
1234R wep skills
[Shift]234 utility skills
[Shift]R elite skill
Q to heal
E to dodge (I also use a pinky button on my mouse sometimes)
[Tab] to swap to next target
[Space] to jump
Z to toggle run
F1-F4 attune switch… or I use mouse buttons

` to destroy bundle/conjure or swap weps

I use R instead of 5 for wep skill so I don’t have to move my hand to the right all that much

I moved the attunements 1 button to the right. It’s not pretty but it works :]

q still bound to weapon swap, which is cool for engi but the definition of meh for ele

Jum… know I understand many things, like why people dont know to be fast with attunements in pvp XD This is my Keybindings:

I have a Razer Naga mouse so I have 12 buttons but i was using this when I didn’t have it:
X,C,V: for utilitys (7,8,9)
º : for elite
G or Z for the cure

And here it is! an easy and logic Keybind

w, s – moving forward and backward
a, d – strafe left and right
1234 – fire, water, air and earth, respectively
q, e, r, mouse 4 and 5 – weapon skills
c – dodge
x, v and mouse 3 – utility
shift – next target
f2 – elite
f – interacting
caps lock – heal
space – jump

Are people really not using strafe? Cause every projectile will hit you whenever your dodge is down.
You can really dance around melee with a, d as strafe instead of as turning. Mouse turning is instant and faster. This allows strafe+turn+lightning whip.
I made f = aoe loot, and shift+f interact.
I don’t use ctrl or alt for anything. To me that is very awkward. I don’t use any of the function keys in any game.
Map, lf, autorun, autoattack, heal are all on my mouse.

Get yourself a naga and save yourself the trouble of worrying about ideal key binds.

The only problem I have is targeting. I haven’t found a keybinding solution for it.

I try to compact everything within my XS-size left hand:

Attunement: F1, F2, F3, F4 → Middle Finger
Skills: 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 → Ring, Middle and Index Finger
Healing: R → Index Finger
Utilities: V, B, N → Thumb
Dodge: C → Thumb
Strafe: Q, E → Ring, Middle
Auto run: W → Middle
Move forward: Capslock → Pinky
Move backward: S → Middle
Interact: F → Index
AoE Loot: G → Index
Nearest Target: Tab → Pinky
Next Target: ` → Ring
Call Target: Ctrl+T → Pinky + Index
Take Target: T → Index
De-select target: Y → Index

WASD to move. Holding right click down allows you to unbound strafe.

1-5 weapon skills

V for heal

E for damage utility
Z for defensive utility
Q for mobility utility
R for Elite

T for Fire
G for Air
F for Water
Mouse 2(Go back button on mouse) for Earth

Everything else is standard.
