Hey guys,

I’m a ranger, and one of the things I hate the most in this game is how Ring of Earth (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ring_of_Earth) blocks projectiles. Sure, the mechanics of it are fine, but what I dislike is that the projectile block has no animation. What happens is that Ring of Earth comes up, goes down, then I fire an arrow that I NEED to land but it gets blocked despite it feeling like it has been a couple seconds since Ring of Earth was used. Would you guys mind an added animation that clarifies for how long player is protected by Ring of Earth, either an icon or an actual animation of some type of aura or something? What do you guys think?

This would be good, as most players don’t even KNOW it blocks projectiles until pvp-ing for quite a bit. The timing of it also is hard for even eles to know for-sure, and most just use it in earth b/c “why not use a short-cast time skill for some extra defense.” Having more visibility for both the ele and opponents would be good.

But you are under the assumption that anet has a clue about this class…they don’t. I wouldn’t expect them to do ANY work on improving b/c they think “well d/d ele is strong in pvp, if we just nerf that a bit, the class should be in a good spot.”

Sounds good.

Problem with making it an aura or buff-like effect is that it’s not specifically assigned to a player. It’s an AoE that doesn’t move after you place it.

Least cluttering and thematically fitting animation I could think of would be the effect when you hit a magnetic grasp. It’s a pretty subtle circle of rocks flying up with a very recognizable sound effect.
