Inc thief nerf?... please?
You got lucky he didn’t crit on the steal or CD, because that should have been closer to 23k. Even with 2800 armor, they hit for 19k when that combo crits, but what was your armor to get hit for 13.4k from backstab?
This is why Lava Font is a fun trait to have…if they hit that hard they will die while you are downed. What build were you using?
They can only do that once every 45 seconds, but it is a bit high. Still, they’re squishy as hell and they can’t do much outside of that ability to destroy someone once every 45 seconds. I don’t see it as horribly unbalanced because you can completely demolish them in about half a second if you catch them at the right time.
As for surviving the hit, toughness…
If you’re still mad, remember the old adage: if you can’t beat ‘em, join ’em.

wp’s spike sure is great and the synergies he found are rather astonishing, but the trait setup and skills/utility necessary for it aren’t exactly like the thief’s ‘2-2-2’ instakill enemies…
that said, I don’t really like massive burst in any class. it shouldn’t be in the game at all, as it reduces a game of skill and reaction to a game of ‘surprise! you’re dead’. anything a player can’t react to or counter (invisibility, lightning flash/churning earth & kill shot to a degree) shouldn’t be able to hit for more than 30-50% of the players health. buttonmashers should always lose to a normally skilled player. I’d prefer if fights took a lot longer (around 30 secs) than now to allow you to counter or predict your enemies and use your skills appropriately instead of following your one and only combo or spamming the same skill over and over again.
btw arenanet announced they will be changing high burst dmg next patch (i think 15th nov that is)
