hello guys,

after 2 months of farming here am i ready to craft a legendary for my ele, but I don’t know what I should go for

i like Incinerator for the fast playstyle for PvP, WvW roaming, and it looks awesome with the flames XD

i like bifrost for PvE stuff and WvW/Etom zerg. and it also looks awesome

it’s really hard to decide what i should pick.

~and here are some questions:
1- if i picked Incinerator will i be able to copy the skin and put it in ascended dagger ?
2- should i wait for the new legenderies and save the gold :P ?

1. yes you can put incinerator on ascended daggers. you can even put any skin on the legendary dagger (i have the fractal skin on mine atm).

2. we don’t know what legendaries get released with hearth of thorns, they said “only a handful” at the start. we also don’t know how they will look like, only that we can’t buy them anymore.

as for incinerator vs bifrost, i have incinerator since early 2013 and i never regretted getting it. it’s one of the best legendaries in the game and fits the ele to 100%.

bifrost is a shiny looking staff but personally i just dont like the model and rainbows so it was never really an option for me, i also dislike staff on ele

i recently crafted the legendary scepter and it’s an awesome looking weapon with a day/night cycle so i would reccomend checking this one out too.

another option is, use your money to flip items on the trading post until you have enough to craft 2

thank you so much, so i’d like to go for incinerator, but before that u said start fliping items in the tp the problem is i don’t really now what kind of items should i flip and how to pick up an item to flip

Speaking of expansion. It seems they keep nerfing eles, especially d/d and soon fresh air too. Staff will soon be the only viable choice in pvp unless the new weapon changes everything.

Staff is already king in open world farming, dungeons, wvw zerg and pretty strong in spvp.

Well personal experience isn’t the best source but better than nothing.

I made bolt roughly 2 years ago because I thought “hey so many classes use sword!” instead of my original plan of making juggernaut.
I used the skin for roughly 1 month or less then I realized I actually hate how it looks and never used it since.
tl;dr Make which legendary you like the most, not the one you think you would get the most mileage of.

I made both Bifrost and Incinerator and still prefer Bifrost over Inci for it looks better with my ele. Do I get the most use out of them? Not really. I have all my weapons skinned differently for easy weapon swapping so they only get used 25% of the time. But they are there for picture time or any sort of costume setup. So go with the skin which you like to see most frequently.

i always wanted frostfang, it’s my fav legendary with incinerator, sadly axes suck so i never got to craft/buy it^^

speaking for incinerator, when i crafted it i still mained my thief and am maining now an ele playing d/d most of the time so i’m totally satisfied with the skin. lately i’ve been using other skins though because using it for 2 years is a bit boring^^

If you prefer how the Bifrost looks, then it’s a no-brainer. Craft the Bifrost. You can craft ascended weapons for your other characters, and as long as you enjoy playing on your ele, that’s well-invested gold.

I crafted:
1- Bifrost
2- Incinerator
3- Meteorlogicus

Even through I crafted bifrost first it is still my favorite legendary. Incinerator is nice but it needs a special aura or some new effect.

Meteorlogicus is my latest one, barely played with it. I really like the look of it.

I too crafted Bifrost, Incinerator and Meteorlogicus and swap out between them when I feel like a change. Plus I skin them for my other characters.

I crafted bifrost so that my ele and mesmer can share it.
My ele uses it for pve and my mesmer uses it for pvp, so it is used a lot.

The new legendaries are going to be… wait for it… awe-some. I’d rather wait.

Personally, I’d wait and see what new legendries are like. I was working towards Bifrost on my Ele before, but since I’ve came back I decided to just put that on hold. I never really liked the look of the Bifrost much (Chaos Staff skin is just as good imo) and I mainly wanted it to have a legendary weapon. For now, I am just wishing for an elementalist themed legendary staff that changed based on your attunement… (and breaking my bank finishing Ascended armor…)

I can’t be the only one who thinks you should just craft a bolt?

Really though if you don’t think your going to finish in 2 months, farm 1000g, get 500 of each dungen token, get your clovers etc of each and sit on it till the expo and craft a new wep for your new class when ele finally become useless, lets all be honest here were kittened.

I’m saving up for my next lege aswell (my goal is to make every lege for thief) and I’m going to craft it the minute they confirm rifle for thief. I absolutely love the skin so I don’t feel I should wait to see the new lege first. If thieves are getting something else, I will probably wait until they release the new legendaries, as the rest of the likely ones are a bit meh (mace, gs, axe, torch…)
So my advice is that if you REALLY like the skin and think it fits your character(s) perfectly, go ahead and make it.

I have the inci skin on my ele who I play from time to time. However it’s only on my off-hand, because I love the way the normal autoattack looks on ele and it looks and feels so wrong when you’re on your water attunement and you’re throwing sticks of fire. I use the corrupted dagger on my mainhand to keep the elemental balance there!

As for the bifrost… I don’t like it. It’s probably the last one I would ever make. It’s too colorful and colorless at the same time (kinda funny because the dreamer was my first lege and I still love it!). It CAN look beautiful with a right kind of armor and dyes next to it but I don’t see that very often. Also, I prefer the ele autoattack to the bifrost’s projectiles, just like with inci.

Didn’t they say that the new legendaries will slowly be added? So even with the xpac, there might only be a couple legendaries out and maybe not even the staff yet? But if you don’t like the legendaries now, then my advice is don’t make them but as far I knew, the new set of legendaries weren’t all going to be out at xpac release.

Maybe for pvp but for pve, staff will be still be plenty useful.

decided to wait, i really love the skin of bifrost but the auto attack just made it bad.
i made up this 3 months with 3500g so i’d save that gold for a new staff leg (if it’s good)
+ the rest of the gold making gear for my other classes nerco/thief
