I am talking about people who have played the profession from day 1? Are you still playing/enjoying the elementalist?

Played from BWE1 and i´m still enjoying it, a lot.

Yes, I don’t have the will-power to start another character.

Oh the irony, actually the first character I created was a Guardian, but I deleted it on lvl 1 because it looked so small and squishy. And then I created an Elementalist for some reason instead. HAHAHHAHAA!!!!!

I’ll just wait patiently for them to fix the bugs and balance issues.

Played since BWE 1. Took a break to learn other professions, to see which one I like better. Ele is still my favourite.

Actually iam also playing since BWE1 and iam owning as ele.

Playing Ele since closed betas and it’s my main. I got all other classes up towards 30ish, but I always return to the Ele, even thou it has limitations in certain areas I still find it to be the most versitile, so it’s the most enjoyable one for me.

Are there big issues with the Ele that needs to be fixed? Sure, quite a bunch of them, but none that actually make the Ele unplayable.

The rumors of our “underpoweredness” and demise are greatly exaggerated. I enjoy my Elementalist.

Main is still Ele, mostly for how it looks and for the challenge while playing.. I also play a warrior to see the differences and they’re substantial (in favor of warrior), but this doesn’t mean I like my ele any less..

Just waiting for the bugs to be fixed and the balance issues to be resolved, but I’m not in a hurry

played ele since BWE1, and even though i strayed from the path for a very small time.. im stil an full-time ele :P

Yep, main is still ele, rotating between it and mesmer for wvw based on what the guild needs, though. Finding it good for Orr farming as well, can solo most events that don’t put me up against 3+ veterans at the same time.

I’m just really not a very good player, and as much as I’d like to play my elementalist I just find it so much harder than my other characters it becomes difficult to solo. I keep logging onto her and trying different weapons and builds that’ve been suggested on the forums, but no luck.

No, I quit on my ele, sadly my main since headstart lvl 80 full exotics. I just use her for crafting. Didn’t worth the frustration.

Trying a Mesmer now.

Still using mine, despite loathing the thing at times ;p
Flat out hate making/using alts so that`s a no go.
Guess just have to keep oping things get fixed.

Ele since BWE2 (tried Guardian and Mesmer in BWE3 after the wipe). ~280 hours with ~255 on my Ele since headstart.

I only PvE, and still prefer playing my Ele over anything else. Two jewels to make and my equipment will be complete. It might be different if I did sPvP, but I don’t.

not played during the beta, but I really like my Ele and having lot of fun with it. There are maaaany things to improve (damage output, survivability, balance with other class ecc) but I can’t expect a game to be perfect after one month going live.

used ele during all bwes and after launch. but once I reached lvl 50 or so I made a warrior.. which quickly leveled to 80 without any hassle.. two weeks later I finally got my ele to 80 and its still fun, but every mob is a tough fight. ele may be powerful for pve if you know what you’re doing (which I’m not), but he’s pretty much worthless for pve, unless you are in a group. I spend more time dodgeing, running, waiting on CD than actually damaging a mob. whereas with my warrior I can just attack a mob, pull a second one or two and finish them all. after that I don’t have to heal, wait for CD – I just continue fighting the next mob I see. gameplay with warrior is so much more fluent..

I like the profession, but ANet’s decision to balance everything around pvp and only pvp seems very shortsighted. how large a percentage of players actually play pvp? for wvw it was 30%. and that entails players just logging into wvw once. so the majority probably is doing pve. yet ANet doesn’t recognize those people as important as the pvp players.

apart from that.. once they fix the traits and bugged skills, ele will probably be quite ok and fun. my main gripe is with traits that only work on one attunement (like 10% more damage). other classes have the same traits for a weapon set – which they use at least half the time, we only use one attunement for ~1/4 of the time, making our traits only half as effective.

It took some time before I could genuinely appreciate the Elementalist, but I can now scarcely imagine myself playing anything else.

Ive played ele since beginning. It’s an amazing class with good sustained aoe damage, amazing mobility and team support with healing, combos and boons.

The class does not reward players who spam skills mindlessly. However a player that can use the right skills in the right order will be repaid many times over.

Playing since BWE1 but only realized Ele was not a mage when I did a couple of PvP games against people with a clue.

Now that I know, I respecced, regeared, re-learned, re-everything and having a much better time.

Still playing, still having fun, just never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever entering structured PvP.

I am still playing, but I have much more fun of any of my alts in sPvP. An elementalist with hundreds of hours of experience, practice, and the proper build is nowhere near as easy or enjoyable as a mesmer, thief, warrior, or guardian with 10 hours of practice and some random build found on google.

But hey, at least when I get downed I can root 1 person on top of me and do minimal damage!

EDIT: Any decent Elementalist will be a god as any of the classes mentioned above.

yes, its was fun followed by a lot of frustration and I don’t think change is likely to happen any time soon… but now at lvl 40 and I want to change to a new class but its getting hard to choose between necromancer and mesmer with ranger as possibility as I don’t really like warrior, guardian, engineer and thief class….

I’ve tried six professions at this point and elementalist is by far my favourite playstyle, despite all the annoying bugs. So much fun. So much more engaging.

I’m a terrible altaholic, currently with 8 slots, one of each class, all races represented at least once, every character in the 15-20 range (except my Sylvari Necromancer who’s frankly just squatting on a name in the hopes of playable Tengu). My Elementalist is the exception, my current main character at 59. Yeah, I get a little envious when I see the damage output and survivability of some of my friends at this level, but I’m a Roleplayer, and pretty committed to the character for the sake of Concept at this point. And when I team with someone who’s good at intercepting aggro, and can really let loose without having to pay so much attention to defense, I feel pretty darn sweet!

It needs to be played moving quickly and carefully switching attunements. You need good finger dexterity or a multi button gaming mouse.

Have a ranger and engie alt that I play on regularly, sometimes a bit of PvP.

But Ele remains the funnest and the only thing I do tPvP on.

I’ve been taking a break from actively playing my elementalist after hitting 100% world completion. It has nothing to do with the elementalist as a class though. I’ve just been putting my time into leveling my thief and engineer, and I do sPvP on my warrior mainly. Ele will probably always be my main WvW character though (almost entirely because it’s the most mobile class in the game).

I just keep making them! I like trying different races for what ever reason but I’m so used to my Ele that playing anything else just annoys me. I’ll get over it of course when I reach end game stuff and I’ll start mayve a Necro or Thief but for the time being I’m kinda stuck on Asura/Ele

Apparently, roughly 15% of the population is playing elementalists. We’re one of the more popular classes.

Playing ele since GW1 to BW1 to now. I still don’t see myself playing other professions.

i played Mesmer from day 1, still enjoying, but now i got some skill while playing him so i try again my beloved Elementalist who was my #1 choice at first
