Is it hard to PvE?
No. Here’s some tips
- Learn to utilize the evades we have to dodge instead of doing damage if needed. On Dagger mainhand you have burning speed, on staff you have burning retreat.
- Learn to self blast fields as needed (water for healing, fire for might)
- Don’t be afraid to use glyph of storms in earth to blind spam, it’s worth it sometimes.
- If you’re uncomfortable with full zerker, try starting with a few soldiers pieces and slowly rotate in the zerker pieces.
- Arcane Brilliance is currently bugged where it doesn’t blast at your characters position, but at your target. Deselect your target to blast the field you’re standing in, this will help a ton with blasting water fields.
- You are not punished for being in melee or range, use this to your advantage.

I recently started to run dungeons with my necro… I use full zerk gear, but whenever I see an ele dps-ing it just seams Way Way stronger than anything I can put out…
so I came here looking for answers

Well, the main reason for that is that the initial burst that Elementalists have is huge and most bosses don’t last longer than the initial burst. Necromancers have a slower build of damage than that initial burst. Not only that, the abilities that Elementalists use to do said burst are all AoE and are multiple projectiles which hit the large hitboxes that bosses have more than once.

The fact of the matter is you will be taking tons of deaths on all classes unless you’re experienced with both the encounters that you’re in and the class that you play.
In other words, elementalist is not much different than other classes in the sense that if you don’t know what you’re doing you’ll go down easily. The difference between elementalist and warrior, for example, is that you don’t have innately high health and armor so it’s less forgiving when you’re trying to learn.

Not sure why people think arcane brilliance blasting at target is a bug when it actually gives you the choice to either blast at target or on you. That’s a good thing no?

Since it’s not stated in the tooltip, it’s generally assumed to be a bug. The functionality is the same as that of how the previous Arcane Wave used to work minus the fact that the blast finisher is displaced.
It’s good, just either needs clarification or fixing.
