Hi All,

My first and main character is a Thief, and I’m level 80 and working on getting some exotics. I’m finishing my Personal Story finally, and have no intentions of doing it on this Elementalist because of how horrible the gameplay on the personal story is.

I’m also getting incredibly bored of PvE, and managed to bypass the early parts with a Birthday Booster from my main character. I’m now level 32 and I tried to outfit my Elementalist with Toughness Gear so that it scales me for WvW better (only 1700 armor ATM )

I am looking for Build/Gear advice for leveling an ele in WvW that still has some PvE farming capabilities. Primarily, though, I want to be a useful upleveled character in WvW. Does anyone have any suggestions?

pLaying an elementalist is not viable. Except in PvE.

Actually, you could level up Wvw as an ele if:
1. always with a zerg and stay back and use staff.
2. if you are never alone.
3. If you have the patience to be fodder to every class.

I love these depressing waves of Ele’s saying how they are a kittenty class in PvP.

Your first sentence could have been omitted. Are you saying Necro’s are a better class now?

If when you play you can manage to play staff ele in fast zerg that take obj, why not

Spec staff, roll with the karma train and drop combo fields and AoE to tag up enemy players.

WvW levelling, regardless of class [and forum!] isn’t super efficient, unless you’re steam-rolling other servers and not protecting your assets in any way, since you’ll eventually run out of towers to roll over.

There’s only so much a level 32 (uplevelled included) can do in WvW against players in full exotics with a full set of trait points. I’d just have some fun and treat it as a “break” from PvE.

PS: You could always craft your way to ~65-70 and then level the rest of the way in WvW with boosters.

I think I might try collecting some gold on my 80 Thief and work on crafting my way to 65-70. Currently I’m working on Weaponsmithing (for daggers) and Tailoring, but I’ll do Jewelcrafting and Cooking for leveling purposes once I save up some gold.
