I understand the need of giving stun breakers to Glyphs but GoPE? Seriously?

I understand the need of nerfing damage boost in water line but, but in a half with no support compensation?

I understand cantrips are too good (or populaor, or the rest just sucks) but adding damage on lightning flash? Seriously?

It doesnt make sense, none of this does. Are people playing the game before making decisions?

You can’t argue that there didn’t need to be a change, EVERYONE was using the exact same build and now just casually browsing these boards there are several viable new options.

GoPE is now instant, I think they gave the spell an interesting twist (get inscription in air for instant boon, etc)

Water was too strong! It gave almost more damage than fire …
But take a quick look at earth VI :)

Lightning flash is interesting as well now because people will start to use it for offensive purposes, as opposed to the brainless pattern of spamming defensive cantrips like most elems did before!

If you play PvE then surely you will love Fresh Air, this is the best trait I have ever seen!

So what I mean is: take a step back, look at the bigger picture, you probably need to adapt but we have received quite a buff :)

Just to let everyone picture something:
IF elementalist right now is in good, or at least decent place among proffessions, imagine how overpowered it was before all these changes.

You can still use lighting flash while being stunned/knocked, but you can’t insta attack right after. It wasn’t that much hurtful, was it?
Higher damage and 5sec shorter cooldown is fair trade, tho I’d like to keep the skill like it was pre-patch.
Personally I can’t picture many actions (beside some small scales) where it would be used offensive way, but hey, Earth dagger#5+LF will work better that way :P

I understand that. But the changes looks like its whack a mole balancing with no thinking whatsoever. Like some guy poped after 3 month holydays and said “ok thats the problem we just change that that that, good, see you in three month!”.

You assumption is incorrect. I know 2 eles who weren’t using D/D build.

Myself and my friend whom I pvp with. The Troll eles people usually call us.

Glyphs needed a stun breaker, but there weren’t any good candidates for it to begin with, so they picked one with a short CD. Imagine if it was the res glyph.

I am still certain that the utility skill could use a redo, making it defensive in nature (a la GoeH), for it to be used. The RNG factor isn’t helping much and glyphs doesn’t have any defensive utility skills, except the healing one.

I would love it if it was the rez glyph. Then it would be instant cast and not useless.

There’s no other glyph that would work as a stun break. Storms? Lesser Elemental?

It’s not going to be on the heal :p

On the res glyph? huh, enjoy the cooldown on that stunbreak :p

I love the new GoeP, with the Glyph recharge trait, it’s almost up indefinitely.
Using it in Air = Weakness on all of your spells almost all the time.
Once the cool down after the initial use is done, you can time it as a stun break if you really want to, most people will be stunning you around that time anyways.

If I keep steping back I wont see anything believe me.

Making GoEP instent isnt “nice”, its common sense. Having a stun breaker on something you want to burn on cooldown is ridiculous.

What other glyph was a good client? Probably pet, even Storms, but there’s always the solution to create new abilities! Heck, even calling Cleansing Fire a Glyph would have been better.

As for Lightning Flash, if they want to make damage out of it than put actual damage! Right now, even buffed, it looks like the kittened little brother of Blink.

But blink doesn’t do damage. Lightning Flash always did damage, it just does more now.

As for the glyph, the only ones to make sense as stunbreakers is GoEP or GoLE. Summoning an elemental to break stun isn’t all bad but it’s tried down by a cooldown. Having a fast recharging pet would have other ramifications and keeping it on a longer cooldown would just make it a crappier choice. As is, if you can’t wrap your head around using GoEP in alternative ways, I have to wonder if you ever were putting it to decent use in the first place as that skill is rather finnicky on its own but can do some nice things when used in certain scenarios.

The only thing LF damage did, and still does, is removing Aegis. 50% of crap is half a crap.

GoEP is a horrible skill to stick a Stun Break on. You activate this skill for 30 seconds where you have a chance to proc an effect. In combat, if you are going to use this skill, you are going to spam it to keep the proc effect up as much as possible, not save it for the stun break.

In fact, the Res glyph would have been the logical choice, with the glyph recharging in 25 seconds if no players were revived as a result of the cast. Or, just the base 25 sec, with the recharge being longer if someone is revived. We know from the recent RtL nerf that they can indeed make recast time conditional.

Not only would this have given Glyphs a stun breaker, but the pairing of a short recharge “Oh kitten” effect, with the long recharge “Rarely used, group Oh Kitten” effect would have made the Res Glyph viable for more builds/situations.

They need to give a little more thought to things like this. When a better answer is staring them in the face and they can’t recognize it, then there is something not right with the process.

Lol the thread title is the troll.

Yeah it’s all preference. While the active proc effect is a really nice swing in your favor, the effects are relatively minor. It’s still entirely possible to delegate the skill as an off-cooldown button press and still have possible use of its stun breaker OR save it for when you’re stunned when you notice the foe using CC.

On GoR, I’d hate that to be a stunbreaker as it has very little synergy with what you use the skill for. And just because it’s a stunbreaker doesn’t mean it’ll be instant but having an instant versatile rez doesn’t sound like it’ll ever happen.

He’s not arguing that there didn’t need to be change; he’s just arguing complaining about how they did it. GoEP is practically a passive ability rather than one you’d save up for the right moment.
