The class is in some serious need of love and buffs. Im looking specifically at you, staff.
We have a focus too! And it’s actually worse!
0 healing abilities, terrible damage scaling, ridiculous cooldowns and bad conditions. The only actual + is projectile defense and invulnerability(so I guess it’s kinda good vs rangers… maybe).
At least staff has some nice combo fields and AoE damage. It’s actually useful in WvW.

To make it worse, not only have we gotten nerfed, but other classeshave only gotten buffed, and Im not talking about “we changed the tool tip from x to z” , im talking about rangers gaining stealth, guardians healing/hitting harder, mesmers getting some tweaks, necros going above the line, warriors getting even more buffs, etc etc etc….eles? nerf nerf nerf, QoL improvement to staff which are a great start but by no means brings the weapon to anywhere near viable..

Is there a way to actively target friendly units with direct attacks, as opposed to targeting with the ground or a nearby enemy with AoE? I ask because staff Water 1 auto attacks would be nice for healing if it could be directly targeted at an ally.

nope, none, not even aiming it to an ally like a melee skill would since the Ai for ranged autoattacks is terrible

In the past, I used to primarily target rangers in WvW because they were easy kills. Now I ignore them because they’re all regen builds that you can never kill and always outrun you or eat you alive with conditions. I always target eles now. Doesn’t matter what weapon they have, they can’t hurt me, and they can’t get away. It’s really sad when i’m on my warrior. No matter how good they are, they will NEVER get away because of the long cooldowns on mobility skills while I can spam mine and literally run circles around them. Even if they have a burst spec, they can’t burst me down through my high armor (over 3300 before buffs) I’ll regen what little damage they manage to do to me and shout heal if they manage to get a lucky crit and totally erase all the damage they do. I can heal faster than they can damage me and the cooldowns on my shouts will be up way before their cooldowns for all their damaging abilities will be up again. And i’ll eat them alive with conditions. Pin down on my bow does nearly 19k worth of bleeding. And it just gets worse for them after I swap to my twin swords, chill them with the hydromancy sigil on one of them, impale them (nearly 9k damage from torment) then just auto attack spam them to death since my crits cause bleeding as well, switch back to bow and pin them down again and drop combustive shot on them. Then they’re dead. that’s how EVERY single fight against an ele goes. And I barely use my warrior, so i’m by no means great at it. It’s just pitifully easy against every ele I go against. Every fight has the exact same outcome every single time. They can’t heal or cure conditions faster than I can apply them because of stupidly long cooldowns and the huge nerfs to healing and condition removal.

I play exclusively elementalist and I seriously thinking stop playing the game.
I begin to play in February 2013 when they begin to nerf the class. I remember saying not too bad, after that more nerf come and I need to completely change my play style and my survivability and my movement were very hit not in a positive way.
After that,they Nerf my survivability,buff air spec and buff others class. I need to change completely my ascended gear,armor, weapons and spec to try to be competitive. Not working very well so far even if I am skilled player.
I have the impression that Anet want that elementalist reroll another class. When I fight now peoples in 1v1, I feel often that I will lost the fight in the only two first second, others class have more survivability, more health and do more dps that I can do.
Now, I am almost always the first target that peoples try to kill. What I try to do? flee and try survive, heal myself and come back to the fight and flee and so on… , I can’t fight alone no more and when I fight in group I need to stay focus on my heal because peoples hit me more harder that they hit other peoples.

That seems extremely passive aggressive.
You can always simply stop playing, but to erase your character is a waste of time. Hopefully, it will change but to delete it is not the solution.
Except for the PvEers and the WvWers, we can agree that elementalist has a lot of issues and hopefully it will be change at some point.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

Lets just start with one of your claims.
The condition forumla is: (0.05 * Condition Damage) + 42.5 per stack per second at level 80
With a 1000 condition stat, that is 5%(1000)42.5, That is 5042.5= 92.5 damage per stack per second. 6 stacks for 12 seconds is 72 ticks. 72 times 92.5=6600 total damage. Please tell me how you got from 6,600 to 19,000 and how much condition you carry?

How the hell should I know? This is before my sigil is even stacked to 25. At 25 it’s about 19k give or take a bit. People are always stating these formulas on here trying to prove me wrong, but they are the ones who are always wrong. I don’t give a flying crap about your math. I go by what I see with my own eyes in game.

That it will change is certain. The “meta” is what the sPvP and tPvP players like to call it. All the qq has to do with the current meta in 1v1 tPvP, holding a very small point in tPvP, bunkering on a small point in tPvP, or escaping from 1v1 1v2 in tPvP. I think we all get the idea. For people who spend 100s of hours in s&t PvP doing those things only, they roll new characters, make new builds, and spend 100s of more hours practicing.
So, those players shelve their Elementalist for sPvp or tPvPuntil the next meta. This has already happened many times to many classes. Delete? Are you kiddding lol. Lose all the soulbound equipment? That would be a waste. In Wvw and Pve we rock. We will rock again in tPvP.

Simply mentioning that RTL or mobility overall needs buffs is worth a +1.
