Nice build!
But why not mist form instead of arcane shield? Mist form will help you do most of those things, but also save you from thief burst.
Other than that—this build is hella fun for tPvP when you have a team to support. Having this kind of staff ele in a team-fight means your side will win almost every time.
The only problem I had with it is if an enemy thief figures you out early on—they can shut you down for the whole match

I just prefer arcane shield sometimes but mist form is definitely a worthy replacement.
I have fought against Helltide in arena, and can confirm that this ele build will nuke an entire team unless it’s shutdown.
arcan shield coz casting spells during blocking 3 atks, in mistofrm u just r doing nothing by taking no dmg, useful while casting meteor:p
i pretty much liked the build as well, had fun in 1 game w it
on second game i was beeing chased by a war the whole game >.<
Yea it can be shut down pretty easily but if they don’t the reward is beyond awesome.
Also, while mistform delays your death by thieves and gives you a chance to reposition, arcane shield is almost as good and can wreck thieves. If you can get any damage down on them to weaken them, good thieves will not attack through the shield as doing so will make them eat a TON of damage, especially for a glass build.

It only takes 1 thief (or really 1 ANYTHING) to realize what you are up to and at that point it’s GG. This build really revolves on the enemy team’s ignorance and your own team having bunkers/balanced builds to keep the enemy engaged while you rain death from far away. A lot of people only die to this build because they have never faced meteor + tornado….Ele’s are rare in PvP and most of them run S/D.
You have absolutely zero 1v1 capability. It’s very frustrating to attempt to cap a point on your own….then 1 enemy shows up and it’s over because in a 1v1 all your AoE’s are useless.
It’s my favorite hotjoin build, but I wouldn’t dare take it into solo/team queue because you are more likely to cause harm to your team (being a free kill) than being a help. Positioning definitely helps and a lot of effort is spent purely on AVOIDING drawing any kind of attention, but that only goes so far.
In ranked PvP zerker builds have no place unless you’re a Thief, the only class equipped with multiple tools to avoid/escape getting blown up (stealth + evasion + mobility) and destroy other zerkers. Mesmer to a lesser extent (stealth/evasion + clones).

This build will work if you are on ledges and the enemy has to go out of his way to get you. Basically the minute people chase you start running. It gets 2 people off the point. Builds like this wont work in single fights or in places with no area advantage
