From July 9 Content Release Notes

  • Fresh Air: This trait now has its proper 5-second recharge instead of a 3-second recharge.
  • Shatterstone: This ability will no longer cancel when autoattack is engaged.
  • Rock Solid: This trait now has the appropriate icon.
  • Stone Splinter: This trait now correctly adds 10% more damage when within 600 units of the target.
  • Geyser: This skill will no longer cancel and go on interrupt recharge when immediately casting another skill.
  • Flame Wall: This skill will no longer cancel and go on interrupt recharge when immediately casting another skill.

If conditional +10% damage boosts are used in other classes, then so will Stone Splinted be used for eles. D/D, and even some s/d builds should seriously consider it now.

Can’t believe.

Seafarer’s Rest EU – PvE/WvW – 8 × 80 chars.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.

yes Stone Splinter is a serious contender now. It’s not mind-blowing 20-25% but we take what we can get. I am running S/D now but thinking of going back to D/D because of this trait (I do much prefer the dagger look and skills more).

Is the patch live in the US? Because here in the EU it isn’t.

Anyone tested yet if the Fresh Air cooldown now starts when it procs (good) or when you move out of air attunement (mindnumbingly bad)?

It’s not live (yet) in the USA either. it sounds like the proc doesn’t care about what attunement you were in, but just that hte ICD is fixed, IE you now need to wait 5 seconds instead of 3, in other words you probably wont notice very much change.

The proc never cared about the attunement you were in. Meaning you can be in Air, switch and crit on your first hit, and then go back to air. It was an ICD for fresh air that was not related to anything else.

No fix for Signet of Air. I would much rather it have it cd reverted to 20/16 and stun break removed instead of this bs 30/24 where written in stone makes it still 16 and then lose the passive for 8 seconds. 8 Sec of not having 25% movement speed with a focus = dead.

Edit:
Does anyone know if the Shatterstone / Firewall fix work when casting a non auto attack after. If so then this is definitely a good fix. I will be able to retry fresh air and not just almost kill thieves but rip out their innards and lol as they lie face first in the ground stealthed, thinking it would help them

We know that the aftercast of the spell has been reduced by 0.75s, but do we know what it is now?
If the wiki is correct and the spell applies 4 stacks of vulerability for 15s then with its 2s cd we can assume that the spell stacks up to max stacks of vulnerability ? I never noticed that.

Edit: the cd does not start before the activation of the spell, so in fact the average amount of stack this spell can give is: 4 . 15 / 4 = 15 which is quite strong anyway!

I also tried it out on the dummies in LA and it seems to be usable now. Can’t say if it’s good or average but it’s usable as opposed to before.

I use it when leaving water, because Air has 2 instants and earth has 1.
