Hello all,

the ele was my first toon and I loved her…but she was weak in PvP and WvW so I moved on to somethign else.

Yesterday, someone in WvW sparked my love. It was an enemy and it was vanilla ele but MAN that burst hurt like a MF’er. Definitely running scepter and I think focus. Blocks/evades and was hard to burst down in a 2v1. Fresh air for sure, swapping to air dropped a bolt to my face and hit for a lot.

Rotations were so well timed it brought a tear to my eye as they smoked me and an engi in a 2v1. As mentioned, was def a vanilla but was way stronger than any tempest I fought (also has that aura or shield that negated attacks and the static shield)….DAT BURST DOE.

If someone thinks this may sound familiar, I would love to run this and possibly bring hope back to my ele again.

I appreciate any help with getting this build.

yea base fresh air ele. Air/water/arcane or air/earth/arcane. Definitly feels good.
I would go with maurauder/celestial mix but up to zerker is possible (but too squishy)
So basically a mix of cele, maurauder, zerker or commander as you personally like.

can be quite tanky and is a boon machine. The more power damage you want the more you use zerker or marauder in your trinkets. It also stacks might and can do noticable condi damage as side effect. Arcane precision is mainly for the weakness and more damage.

They were using a scepter variant and they wee a bit tanky. Without might stacks they were still sustaining some very decent damage. Arcane makes sense as the damage from it (on arcane skills) can be pretty deadly. Thanks for this.

dagger has the shoking aura but i am a scepter player too. You mentioned they used shoking aura. Might be that tempest defences was traited. It´s a good option (but i only used it in a lighning rod build)
I also like to use arcane brilliance but the sigil heals a lost without pressign the heal skill when you rotate trough your skills. Might have a gab after you did go trough all elemets but it will make a shocking impression for the first seconds dealing strong damage, healing, CC ing so like untouchable ele killing stuff … Then you get some “Lag” :-).
And durability rune is very strong on arcane ele.
A very nice option with tempest is surging rune so if you want more punch use that. Rebound and surging rune make up for some anoyness. You fire rebound in air and get 2x 4s shoking aura. But yes its no longer base ele. I made a funny lighning rod tempest build with it. I usualy play condi heavy hybrids or the funny lighning rod thing. (or meta healbot but with sage in PvP i needed …)

Weakness and stun anoyance to support your team. Decent damage.

Nomad stats with staff rune of durability Water Earth and Tempest in end yes a tank elementalist, this is the only option that Anet bring ele to go since they change Diamond Skin. No more roaming no more dagger dagger, just a cc heal bot. Ele from beta.

Don´t say ele roaming is dead ….

Guess i had a dozend kills before they got me …
2 times FSG rocked hard fighting with it. 1:2 was not an issue. I only struggle with condi mesmer and sometimes warriors with it. I can´t catch good thiefs but many thiefs just die on their attack. One fight was i did see a thief and another guy. I kew the thief will attack the ele prey thinking he has a teammate as backup. He died after his first stealth assault while trying to disengage in stealth….
I have to say i lost to thiefs horribly when starting to play WvW and developed and trained to beat them. Now i engage them whenever i can.

I Appreciate the help with this build im looking for. I saw one today (tempest) using the rock shield summoned weapon…annoying af to fight and didnt hit nearly as hard as the build im looking for. I have a guildie that has a similar build but is very squishy (moreso than the one I fought) and he was running Air/Arcane/Water

Truth be told, you have to be very skilled with ele to pull it off. Not trying to brag about it, but I have successfully ran the build in WvW in the past. Learning it was a nightmare tho. I used full glass, scholar + ascended zerk armor, 15k HP and yes, it hits like a truck, can kill anything from warrior to engi, but it is hard to play and extremely punishing.
Killing stuff with it makes you a boss tho, enemies will instantly know you are good if you can use the build well. And hell is it fun.
