LH traits
Hello.
I am a new ele wondering about LH builds.
I dont understand the meta. So I guess I am missing something.
Conjurer is a must so you can have LH on cooldown. Other than, shouldnt w be picking as much damage modifiers as possible?
That’s exactly what the 30/10/10/20/0 build does. That, plus a focus on might + fury stacking, which are both just more +damage buffs.
You mean for dungeons, or solo?
@max, that is not what I found to be the meta.
@Axial, dungeons and fractals.
I run 25/25/10/10 on dungeons for max dmg (full zerker)
+10 charges on conjures; burn on crit (10% dmg against burning foes)
+20% dmg for foes under 50%; +10% crit dmg after a arcane
+10% dmg in melee range
+20% dmg when in water against foes with vulnerability
S/F for might stacks, LH and 2 arcanes (blast and wave or shield if you need the extra defense)
With all the dmg modifiers and the might stacks, you get the autoattack chains from LH doing 6k-6k-10k dmg (or even more) with that setup.
FGS on bosses can get some big numbers also…
[edit] its not a good build if you don´t know the fights, you need to know when to dodge and when to change you LH for a frostbow or your offensive utilities for defensive ones. You have little room for mistakes.
Bear in mind crit damage is less potent than straight +damage% traits since crit damage is more additive rather than multiplicative.
Vital Striking is easily kept up with Obsidian Flesh since by the time it ends, the trash mobs would be blinded from the LH 3rd hit assuming you LoSed correctly. Against bosses you just do 2 Fiery Rushes and they’d explode unless it’s fractals where higher level fractals bosses gets you down in one hit anyway.

so many LH build possible
30/20/10/10/0 – 30/20/0/20/0 – 25/25/10/10/0 – 25/25/10/10/0 -25/10/10/25/0 – 0/20/25/25/0 – 0/25/20/25/0 all of them have to be adapted to the party composition, need fury 30 fire, need vulnerability 25 air, need 10 more charge on weapon 10 fire, want almost all attack modifier 0/20/25/25/0 is your build, i think this is all

IMO the extra 15 in air is wasted in a decent party. Persisting flames with lightning clap is too good not to pair up for fury stacking and 20 water is decent party sustain all by itself. Warrior’s rending strikes is a given if you have one and his discipline banner replaces the trait points in air. Nobody can replace those flat 10% bonuses though.
Of course there’s the 10/x/x/x/0 possibilities like 10/10/25/25/0 but you’re either in a PuG or organized so there’s no need for those.

I see. Thank you guys.
Oh, one more question. I tried fire-camping staff build and some LH builds on the indestructible golem on the mist. I am a little surprised as I need a lot of time in order to “kill” it.
Do eles need to be buffed by other classes in order to shine dps wise?

The meta is described in the stickies above.

Both list 30/10/10/20/0 as a good general-application LH build. You can also do 30/30/10/0/0 to stack vuln yourself, but I prefer the few points in water.
I see. Thank you guys.

is your work buff the other ^^, be4 summon the LH you have to do the buff rotation, this is realy important part

LH builds will probably be getting a buff with the Ferocity update, actually. Atm, the LH gives us 180 prec and 5% crit dmg. If that 5% crit dmg is changed to 180 Ferocity, that’ll be a buff. Although it definitely won’t make up for the overall nerf to crit dmg on our gear, it’s still something.
I see. Thank you guys.

No and yes. LH eles are pretty good at self-buffing because they can put down a fire field, quickly blast it a few (3-6) times, then blast it once or twice more with their LH auto chain. So they can give themselves enough of a buff to shine on their own. Staff eles, on the other hand, get at most 3 blasts in their fire field, so they need a party to top off their might and fury in order to do comparable DPS to that LH ele that gave himself or herself 18+ stacks of might and a minute of fury.
One thing to keep in mind when testing x/0-20/x/x/0 builds on your own is that eles don’t have any way to keep up vuln on a target short of using a sigil (and possibly skale venom, too), so more self-sufficient builds along the lines of x/25/x/x/0 may appear significantly better in solo play when they may actually be worse in group play.
