Hit level 80 a few days back and have the Travelers set (level 79). I primarily PVE and would like to WvWvW and would like your opinion on which armor set’s I should be looking to get (i’m trying to avoid purchasing something only to find out there is another set I don’t know about that I should have purchased). I am looking at the crafted exotic armor but am not sure which set is best. I’m D/D in PVE (and loving it), and while I find that I do great I don’t think I do quick enough AOE DPS during DE’s with others involved as they seem to burn them down quicker. Also, someone mentioned buying Karma armor from the Alter of Tempests or something like that. I’m sure I’m leaving something out but I essentially would love to know what options are out there and what I should be taking a look at. Thanks everyone. Loving the game and loving Elementalist.

I crafted a set of exotic armor split between Knight (power, precision and toughness) and Valkyrie (power, precision and vitality) gear. That is a solid mix of damage and survivability. Glass cannons are too fragile for my tastes, and I wanted a set with flexibility for solo, dungeons and WvW, even if it’s not optimal for any particular situation.

I am in a similar situation, I have to make some level 80 rare gear soon and I think I am going to make it Glass Cannon to see what it is like before I make the exotic gear. As I still need the 15 levels to get to 400 in tailoring.

If the glass cannon gear works out and I am fine, then ill make exotic gear that way. However if I die to often then ill have to look at what I need and want for survivability.

Cleric here, but you might be interested in Berserker’s or Rampagers for damage.

Depends on your playstyle and what you’re specced in for as well.

Power, vit, and condition.
I need to pick a rune now.
Rune of necromancer or rune of undead.
