Let's Vote ONLY! (Tempest)
4 – Disappointed, warhorn isn’t so bad (exept the long CDs) but the rest is just meh
Thanks for votes, it has been updated up to Ruzin.2410.
4 and this is only out of respect for the dev’s work, I’m afraid. i don’t totally hate the idea of a storm calling caster a little after seeing it, but the actual spec and weapon (which continues to underwhelm) seem to be of little use and the playstyle it seems to promote isn’t particularly interesting to me. Sorry.
1. Mid range offhand damage was missing for ele. Aoe auras without weapon, trait, or attunement consideration. (Aftershock your ally when they have rapid fire focus). Boon share means group armour of earth and half the effort needed for fire blasts. Then Mesmer can pass it back as well. 20 stacks of stab. This means arcana isn’t necessarily a must though it does make the best choice for boon share
Group super speed for your “escape”. If you get caught it was bad positioning. What happens when you combo super speed and mist form?
Largest area chill for elementalist to date.
Ele can overload fire during group fire blasting to contribute might.
Traits do need a shout reduction option. (Is that present in any elite specs? Necro greatsword has a skill based one.). Stability in tempest would help. Armor of earth would be a bit much if needed to get one off.

4 – it does not bring a new playstyle. We didn’t need more support. Overload will be a situation fight finisher / fight running tool. Rework and synergy with conjurs could have had potential but they went for MORE auras…. They chose a massive team support weap OH (you know that thing we already do best… support) instead of a melee individualist wep that would bring sustained auto attacks and mele self defense (you know a new playstyle option)

I really like it. It can make new builds viable, add a good support build and if you look there’s a very good damage under that overcharge skills.
It can be hard to play, adding new strategies and making the game a little harder, but it can be really good.
in PvP it can be very good, if you will be able to move and active the overcharge in the right moment.
Actually a good support ele can make the difference in a spvp situation, with a warhorn the ele can be the second better supporter of the game (the first is always guardian because can give a lot of might and good stability) and the frist supporter in PvE.
Thanks for votes guys, keep them coming. We are getting quite a lot I must say, up to 50 now.
Updated up to Silv.9207.
4/5 i main ele and the problem i see with this is that it penalizes players for doing what ele does best which is might stacking and attunement swaping. by being forced to camp an attunement you are missing out on the main reason we bring eles into dungeon parties. pretty upset about this seeing as ele is my main, maybe i will change what class i play in HoT but i would really like to see ele be fun and viable again with multiple builds possible.
5) hated it
4 – I think they gotta rework on some stuff.I dont see myself using any of those skills in pvp.The overcharge is a good idea, but its bad they way it is. Shouts need something extra, the way it is no one will replace their utilities for any of those shouts.
Voting five.
Didn’t need another kittene offhand. Won’t bother using it. Would have rather had a sword.
Warhorn is the gaming equivalent of sending your enemy a ‘strongly worded letter.’ and then having your teeth knocked out for your efforts. It’s clown shoes.
The only way they could have made this worse was to make it a kazoo instead.

False, I’d roll kazoo everyday. I change my vote from 4 to 5 since I just realized it could have been a kazoo instead.
3 – but still looking forward to it.
Good call. Instead of blowing a party to… ahh… victory you could hum them there. I knew there had to be a silver lining.
Thanks for the extra votes guys, updated to Deim Hunir.8503.
Also adjusted your vote OneKlicKill.4285, but I had to watch this to understand what a kazoo was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oau9gtG5Om8.

wasnt a big fan of a warhorn as weapon either but see me using it.
also i see tempest competing with arcana in a fair way + its the missing link for aura builds.
the first grandmaster trait alone is worth the line in itself as it instantly pushes u out of the need to use cantrips..
all in all it looks balanced to me and after reading the forum for the last couple of days i wasnt expecting that..
the 15 sec overload cooldown r a pretty fair timeframe aswell.
outside of aurashare i allways wondered why atunement sweaping give ur party so much but never saw any fitting utilitys that complement that playstyle aswell. now ele gets them.
karl actually did a good job imo in opening up new playstyles maybe even give zerker gear a chance in open pvp while still being focused on making it not stupidly op. i defintly see me running some of it.

Just more AoE and more support…
‘RIP Ele Sword, you died too young.’
4 it was bad almost all skills are useless overlord is joke lock you 20 sec in 1 attu and too ez to stun
5 – It legitimately feels like Anet are trolling us. They didn’t even give us a good elite, they just gave us an elite to make other people use their elites more. If polls really are banned, that’s pathetic. If they’re not trolling, polls are clearly exactly what they need. Some fool is sitting in his office at Anet comforting himself by insisting that there are always haters. There certainly are, but if they’d objectively try to figure out what people like, they’d do way better for themselves. People are overwhelmingly unhappy with this spec.
Polyscia – Elementalist
Mercedene Underfoot – Thief
It’d say 3. I see a lot of issues but many skills are undeniably strong.
4… I will never cast an overload in pvp. Scepter for
now didnt get any balanace. No new mainhand, no new gameplay style. We will never be a viable DPS build in pvp.

4. It needs a serious rework.

I was really hoping that an elite specialisation would be elite. Unfortunately, I can’t see myself using any warhorn skill, overload or tempest trait in very many situations.
I really hope they completely rework this even if it delays HoT for a while.
definetly 5, pretty dissapointed and considering not even playing heat of thorns as the revenant is barely keeping my interes as a main ele
Thanks for the votes guys, updated to Guilmon.9478.
4 disappointed….
3 , because it just don’t change anything on my game play. It will be just as situational as any other specialization for me.
3. Can’t decide until I have tried, but I look forward to trying some stuff.

I would have went with 4 but the reveal video was terrible. Karl appeared unable to use an elementalist at a remedial level. This explains why he designed a spec that is completely counter to how the elementalist mechanic is designed and how the damage, healing, and survivability is balanced.
Rubi sounded completely unimpressed through the entire reveal. Any encouraging words she said about the spec sounded forced, almost like she was choking on the words.
Showing an ele attacking dummies. It certainly was something. Boring comes to mind. I guess the only thing it really showed was how terrible the damage off the overloads is. Thanks, I guess.
Whoever put this video together really should have done more editing. Although I suspect if it had been edited properly we would have had the opening, afew seconds of an ele attacking dummies, and then the credits. The fight with Svanir…that should have been cut. Not only did it high light how terrible the entire concept of overloading is. It also high lighted the terrible damage, the fact the person working on eles can’t even use them (Even after putting in a tremendous amount of time designing the skills? – something mentioned in the video…that probably should have been cut as it only serves to make this spec appear even worse).
I could go one, but i’m waiting to see if this is the start of a trend for the rest of the specs. Then I’ll decide if i’m going to throw money at HoT.

Dude the class relies on field blasting and evading damage and the new weapon doesn’t even have blast, evades, invul, stab, reflect, or cleanse…
And the overload concept works against the class mechanic: I never stay in an attunement more than 4-5 seconds and after that I don’t want to be a sitting duck for 5 more seconds.
It seems only the art team knows what to do.
Thanks for the vote Snow White.1842, thus far we have:

Average rating of: 3,43/5
Remember, a rating closes to 5 is bad and rating closest to 1 is good (yeah should have made it the other way around….)
I plan on updating again on Saturday and close the one week worth of pool to get the final general opinion, but I must say a 3,43/5 is not a “scratch the idea” rating, but it certainly leads to a “a lot of rework needed” rating.
All in all I think we got a really rough diamond that needs a good amount of polishing, but if it gets it it could be interesting albeit not entirely new play style for elementalists.
5)
Around 2.5 times more people have rated it 4 or 5 than 1 or 2. For me that is a “scratch it completely” rating.
Also the first quartile is 3 and the second and third quartile is 4. Again: Scratch it.
