Hello everyone!

I am looking to start an alt and I have a few of those scrolls that level you to 20. I have found some good builds for Elementalists at 80, but I haven’t found any updated leveling guides.

Would “berzerker” style armor/weapons be best for leveling?
What kind of weapon selection lends it self to faster leveling?
What trait lines should I be putting points into as I level?

Probably my biggest question – what are the best skills I should look to unlock first for leveling?

Very curious to hear some advice on this as well. :)

I’ve been away from the game for nearly two years now and have been craving another go at it. I have a level 80 elementalist, but I want to completely re-roll to enjoy the game and familiarize myself with the game and the class all over again. (Probably weird to some…)

I’m definitely feeling a bit lost. :)

It’s been a long time since I’ve had to manually level /any/ character, but I’ll try to drop some tips. If you are looking to level in PvE, as opposed to EOTM or pvping for tomes, I would recommend zerker stats for gear, and a staff for the weapon, mostly because staff has a lot of aoe, so you can more easily clear mobs and tag more enemies for exp/loot.

Most endgame builds for ele will have you putting points into water and arcana, so I would suggest working on unlocking those first. This should also help you with sustain if you are running zerker gear. As far as skills, you probably want your cantrips – lightning flash and mist form especially, for mobility/gtfo situations. Signet of Air is also nice for mobility if you’re doing map-completion style leveling. Ice Bow is a great source of dps (5 to immobilize, then rain 4 down on them). I also use Arcane Shield and Glyph of Storms in pve sometimes.

I am new to the game and levling. (45 now)
I use equipement i find and keep the + power and precision.(Rest is salvage).
I level by moving around, taking events that pop near me, forage whats in my way and doing the daily´s (finish three! Yes i go to WvW if needed for that). Thats about two level per hour using the extra XP items i get. (I did´t use the + LvL and save them).

I useed staff and now train scepter. Mobs die no matter which weapon i use. If i want AE i use fire, otherwise earth and sometimes air.
