For map completion I’d recommend swapping in a dagger offhand, but other than that no change. Just some swiftness/RTL.

Funny that you say that; because WvW-players claim it’s balanced around sPvP, and sPvP-players claim it’s balanced around PvE.

It was changed because of PvP. Ele mobility between capture points was just too insane, and with 20 sec CD it was too OP for disengaging too. That’s why now it has 40s CD if it’s not used for combat purposes.
^ So instead we now have shout heal warriors with greatswords running the orb in spirit watch that cant be cced and do it way better than ele ever could. Where’s their nerf for rush to have it on a 40 sec cooldown? Its about time anet admitted they were wrong and unnerfed it already.

Shoutheal GS warrior sounds like elohell category to me. Besides, a shoutheal warrior only has 1 stunbreaker and 0 stability, it can be CC’d to death. You can activate RTL in the air which also allows you to skip some rocks/fences which would stop Rush.
D/D ele is way more OP than any other spec in the game for PvP. Maybe it’s not as good at orb running as a warrior who was built for orb running, but it’s better at everything else. Actually, if you take Signet of Air and FGS, it is better at orb running than a warrior.
^I have a shoutheal build for my warrior specifically to abuse that level in spvp. Unless the entire other team focuses on me, they will not stop me from taking the orb and getting to a point. Ele can’t even come close to being as good at running the orb as warrior is even if they did revert rtl. its not even a contest. You just need gs and s/warhorn traited for warhorn skills to remove condis. Fear me and shake it off are enough to keep you healed and keep people off of you combined with all the passive healing warrior already has. You dont even need 3 shouts. you could take dolyak sig as the 3rd utility. And rampage wont make you drop the orb. that combined with melandru runes and dogged march, good luck stopping me. Ele cant even come close to that.

Losing 100 damage per second may not seem to be that significant, but it’s all that was needed to overcome the passive healing. It’s still a decent class, but claiming it’s the best is naive.

D/D Ele has access to nearly perma protection, shout warrior only gets protection if he converts vulnerability. Ele also has a teleport on 40 sec CD, while not a stunbreaker, you can teleport to the highground and escape the burst. Then there’s Shocking aura, which stops enemy burts unless your opponent has stability (also applies protection). Don’t forget water attunement, which is another source of instant heal/condi cleansing and an aura that chills foes and gives protection to you. And if all fails, just disengage with FGS, which makes it almost impossible to chase you down.
But yeah, D/D ele is bad, despite thet fact that every top team has at least 1 ele. Or 2. Well sometimes 3.
Our 75s “stun break” actually gives us 10 stacks of stability that our enemies don’t bother to waste their CC to remove. D/D cele is still freaking strong and one of the best at disengaging from the fight. And the only thing to overcome passive healing is sigil of Doom (or Poison).

Im not denying its good in pvp. Im just saying on that particular map, warrior is light years ahead. If you pop fgs, you drop the orb. If you teleport, you drop the orb. Warrior can freely use all of their skills including rampage and still hold the orb. And the whole reason rtl was nerfed in the first place was because of that stupid map and the orb running. it just doesnt seem fair that they havent reverted rtl considering that after certain changes they made to warrior, it put warrior way ahead of pre rtl nerf ele in terms of mobility on that map.
I’d just like to be able to use a different elite skill when roaming in wvw aside from one thats only good for running away. using something thats actually useful in combat would be nice. But until they revert rtl, we will always be forced to take fgs no matter what. So it doesnt even matter if we do end up getting a decent new elite skill. It will never be taken over fgs because you need the mobility to escape zergs. you used to be able to go without it, but cant anymore. I’d love it if they removed all the mobility skills from fgs and made it useful in actual combat in exchange for unnerfing rtl and putting it back at 15s cooldown and 1500 range.. Give us a firey hundred blades or something.

Spirit watch is not even in rated rotation, so it’s as irrelevant as it can get.
The RTL nerf had nothing to do with Spirit Watch, it was just too OP for conquest in general.
FGS is the one of the few things that every ele can use to kill Trebuchet, Gate and even Lord extremely fast. It can also kill Turrets at some extends.

Extremaly fast? No. That was before fgs nerf. It’s now so, so. Not worth elite slot imo

why are you asking for a build on an ele centered around one skill?
