Hey, so experimenting with lots of ele builds specifically looking at DPS tempest with scepter/warhorn with using conjured weapons (lightning hammers and flamesword) surprisingly the build works great with tonnes of different amulets, but ive noticed with this build, and across almost all other ele builds ive tried to work with involving dps over spam support, is the amount of skills with 3/4 to a full second cast times. Mainly within earth/fire/and across the board on elementalist utilites.

Addressing a specific area would be the spawning of the conjured weapons. Not only are the weapons themselves only spawn able and usable twice within a cooldown range, (unlike engineers insta swapping never on cd weapon kits) but they have such a long cast time i barely even get to swap to my wepon when i need it! These skills seem to have been largely ignored throughout ele’s update history, still holding on to the ever useless “more charges and flame shield” trait in the “hard enough to implement” flame traitline. Long CD’s and mostly underwhelming effects (once again largely due to long cast times).

Ele seems to be the hardest class to find use for once again in the pvp community. I have been trying hard and i have found formulas that would work with just 1/4 second less cast time on some of these skills. The implementation of more stuns and slow has really hurt the eles role as a viable class, and they need to fix it. Dps without a nuking staff has been thought of as impossible by many. And the support viability has now been weakened. No class in a “balanced” game should maintain such a stigma.

To make this clear, i believe the solution is some shorter cast times on the more useful skills, Conjured weapons could add a balance if they are buffed a little bit more to suit the eles constantly switching between skill sets play style, and the buffs on the classes around ele and implementation of slow has reduced ele’s effectiveness drastically.

I would love to see this class return to its former glory and versatility. Thanks.

I also tried but the changes forced me to build more close to meta. My more agressive nom meta build was destroyed, because it hot hit in his defence to hard. Elemetal Bastion and the earth cooldowns were one of my main survival tools without healing power and water traited. I used Tempestious aria not torrents. It was a build to kill and mitigate enough to acomplish this. Now i need to put on a healing power amulet to do annything decent and not to die instantly and this is not the way it should be….
Now i am to a healing power amulet and torrets and needing to build like all others sucks hard …

This is generally what happens when you nerf across the board instead of nerfing only the things that are the problem (Staff). By nerfing everything you stifle any other alternative builds bc now they do less as well so you have even less reason to run them compared to staff.

I absolutely love dagger/wh and dagger/dagger builds but in perfect honesty there is very little reason to run them outside of doing certain mechanics in raids (ice field clear on matthias for example). Just roll a thief – Press 1. 34.5k dps.
