Looking for a good dmg PvE build.
You’re still a new player to the Ele it seems. Look at the guide in my sig, and play the Classic Auramancer until you become better at the class. It does low damage, but it’s very survivable and will teach you a great deal of how to play the Elementalist.
I have played that build, and honestly it was just too low damage and I’m ready to move on from it. It’s not that I don’t know how to play my elementalist, it’s learning when to dodge in certain instances, but I’m still fairly new at doing fractals so it’s a learning experience. I have been following you, Zoose and Kitsane and playing around with different builds, but the main one I was concentrating on was the lightening hammer build and I don’t think I’ve quite gotten the hang of it since it requires dodging at the right times.
>Mainly trying to play the Lightening Hammer …
this is the most boring ele build out there – you auto attack while staying in one atunement – this is the exact oposite of what ele is all about
Warr GS/AxeMace is more intresting to play (you use all skils, swap wapons), does more damage, has much more survability and does not require almost perfect support party that the hammer ele needs (fractals 40+)
If you preffer mele range and insane dps warrior is the way to go. If you want some more sophisticated play then try thief who is imho between primite warr and tricky ele.
I know what I am saying – I play hi level fractals (and general dung/pve) with all those three proffessions.
edit:
and also stick to the guide that neko wrote. It is by far the best pve ele guide published on this forum.

Try one of the Hybrid builds I listed. Better DPS while retaining survivability.
I’m not looking to play any other characters at this moment, Lavadiel, but thank you. Neko, I just changed to the build that you are using and I’m going to give it a go. Thank you.
I’ve always had fun and felt capable running a D/D build for PvE. I haven’t played the build for a couple months, so I’m not sure how recent changes may have effected D/D, but I always found I could kill things fast, deal with groups of mobs and maintained good survivability through positioning, mobility and evasion.

I’m using this build, suits me pretty well, but this build is highly dependant on certain
gear maximizing prec/power and crit dmg.
Along with decent dmg output it provides some opportunities for survival, might try,
quite easy to play. Shown itself great for me in PvE dunges and WvW.
P.S. I often switch signet of fire to arcane wave, depends on what I do.
