Have you tried it in combat? That’s where it’s noticeable, although I still don’t use it myself.

Of course I have, all 3 seconds of it before I am immobilized and Flurried to death by the Warrior trains (PLURAL).

Hiya, Could you link some videos using those builds – I would like to see how it’s meant to be played (I’ve been trying it out and keep reverting to the old d/d might stacking ways – force of habit). Also quite alarmed by the lack of mist form and or as many stun breakers as possible, that said the sigil of generosity is quite handy (shame about the ~20 gold price tag :-S)

Honestly I don’t know the guy and never talked to him. You’d have a better shot asking him yourself on newer videos.

edit: you can probably look at earth’s embrace like a 4th free utility/stunbreak.

I don’t glass scepter is good in anything besides small group roaming honestly. Terrible for solo and terrible for zergs.

Mel is a great elementalist and as an ele is far superior to daphoenix and his build fixes the lack of defence and armor that an ele has with 3k armor. Ele’s problem was never the lack of health, ele has enough the problem was that ele was constantly getting dmg of 3k+ if he didn’t dodge, while Mel’s build has problems they’re mostly appearant when you run into someone with +40% condition duration.

Exactly. My guardian has almost 4k armor and I can still get hit for 7-12k backstabs somehow. Health that low is just asking to get oneshot by some sneaky thief. There really is no point in going above the 2500-2700 mark. Thieves will still hit you for insane damage. I dropped some of the defense for more power and still get hit for around the same amount but I kill them a lot faster now. After a certain point, armor isn’t worth it and you need to focus more on killing them before they kill you.

Anyways, the build posted by the OP doesn’t quite work in WvW, especially in zerg situations (even small zergs). Saying you don’t need much HP with 3k armor is just bullkitten. First of all, anyone who gets focused on will melt. Second, exchanging a giant amount of your HP for more toughness won’t solve anything indeed. In matter of fact, it makes things much much worse when it comes to conditions. WvW is a place where conditions are plenty. But besides the low HP which makes conditions quite harsh on you, you’re also lacking condition removals with that build which is just pure fail, even if you’re using lemongrass soup.

I’m glad he still plays. Just came back yesterday and looking forward to party up with him again for wvw pvp roaming!
