Melee elementalist viable?
My build uses those as its primary source of damage but giing into water ti heal or air for its cc is a requirement for any ele

You pretty much have no choice at all if you want to do d/d. If you still want to stick with fire and earth, try a scepter instead. Otherwise, you’ll have to kite a lot in d/d and you’ll have to wait a while for your big spells to come back up. Water is extremely important for healing and air for mobility and cc.
That said, investing in survivability is okay but power is nice if you can manage dodges well and use conjures to max effect. Try the flaming axe, it’s pretty kitten.

earth stability and lightning hammer is all you need, fun times :p
Elementalists need all the elements to function properly. Each single attunement is lacking in something else, and no two attunements will make a fully viable weapon set up. You need all 4 to be effective.
(Not counting Lightning Hammer builds, which still do use most of the attunements for might stacking)
