Meteor Shower + Tornado
The stat boosts while in Tornado form are intended. What’s unintended, is that it’s the only viable use of Tornado.
Until that, I’ll play GW2.

Ele & thief main (full ascended)
Down with the braindead faceroll classes.
Tornado grants triple power, double precision/vitality. Since meteor is a 3s cast 7sec duration you get 4 sec with buff meteors falling. Tornado last 15 sec. Tornado works with glyph of storms too but glyph of storms does not hit as hard as meteor shower.

IMHO this is not intended. But when you look at the situation of the elementalist and elites, devs are just ignoring this for a while.

I find tornado pretty good in zerg fight it grants stability + double vit + kbs + whirl finisher + triple power + double precision, everything in a pretty short cd.
Is not the best elite in the world but it does its job in certain situations…

off: Noted. Life taken too seriously.
It won’t garner any attention from the devs. It is working as it should.
Tornado buffs damage and meteors that fall after your elite comes up will gain the added damage.
Same deal with Glyph of Storms.
Its a great combo for AoE fights (or against big hitbox foes)
FGS against a wall is still better on most cases…
The buff on dmg works also with the Vigil buff in LA for the fight against scarlets stuff.

cause AoE knockback and blind is useless?
Can’t speak for the D/Ds and the Scepters, but for the Staff Ele…
I recently discovered just how awesome Tornado can be. I too thought it was flat useless at first, until I read somewhere about OPs Tornado/Meteor Shower combo. I have actually been Murdering people with it now.
Today, two assassins thought they were being slick roaming together and thought they were going to just slap me on this point. I self casted Meteor Shower as they came in, switched to Tornado, and just let the 1 attack spam. Before tornado had even run out and before they got a single attack off, they both became visible again downed. It was AWSOME. 2v1 with a staff-ele in tPvP, who does that? Also, i run with a friend who is a mesmer, and constant counfounding bolts as he put mesmers fields on top of me(think Time Warp plus Tornado while Meteor shower still coming down, constant super fast confounding bolts…) was also pretty bad as. Another day recently I downed 3 people with it before the battle for the point even started, and me and one other squishy easily took the point.
You definitely want Meteor shower coming down first, and ideally an ally or 2 to take advantage of the chaos with you, but so worth it that way.
I am pretty sure i read that they are removing this. It is clearly unintended so it needs to be removed. Though, why Anet hasn’t bothered fixing this yet i don’t know – but then again so many times we wonder what Anet is doing so who knows….
The stat buff is intended. It’s not powerful enough to warrant a nerf, honestly. You become a giant target to any organized group – when the meteor shower gets a red circle it’ll be nerfed enough.
Tornado needs a rework. It’s an AoE skill that blows its target out of the AoE range. The blinds on cc’d targets are wasted. It locks all other skills but still lacks defense against ranged targets. It needs ridiculous stat boosts to deal damage that are better used for meteor shower.
Tornado needs a clear purpose. If it’s cc, get rid of the stat boosts (maybe even of all damaging components except the finsher), but give it projectile destruction like Swirling Winds. If it’s damage, delete the periodical blow out, but give it some active defenses. AoE blind/knockdown/blowout would make so much more sense if they were player-activated and not passive ticking.
Until that, I’ll play GW2.
I just want to mention that tornado isn’t the only ability that increase your power and go along with meteor shower.
I think the reason its never been altered is because its not abused. Lets face it how many of us actually give up an elite for a few seconds of amazing dps that requires luck to being hit by multiple mini aoes in those 4 seconds (if done flawlessly) and them staying in the aoe long enough to get the 2nd phase of the combo.

It needs some tweaks for sure. The “Fake” patch notes listed that it was getting Projectile reflection IF this turns out to be true it would be a GREAT change to it. I do think that it needs to have Toughness increased though like other Melee Transformations.
You have to actually USE the knockback, if you don’t want to knock them back – Don’t. I use it in WvW and will use the Knockback when on bridges, near cliffs and such but if i am not then i will use the Blind and Lightening one.
It would be nice if the Knockback inflicted Bleeding and if they added one that could turn it into a Fiery-Tornado that inflicts burning.
As i said they are PLAYER activated. The knockback is the #3 skill. If you don’t want to knock them back – Don’t use it.

You cannot not use the launch on Tornado. Tornado pulses every 3 seconds the damage and an AoE launch. In addition, you can queue one of the 3 skills (lightning, blind, knockback) to be activated shortly after each damage+launch pulse.
Until that, I’ll play GW2.
I have never noticed it launching anyone without me using skill #3
It’s OK as a whirl finisher, but only if you’re already using the tornado to boost your meteor storm.
The cooldown, long-interval between damage, lack of defensive or healing skills, and fact that it makes you a giant target all make it a pretty lackluster and situational elite. If it stopped boosting damage, I don’t think many of us would ever use it.
BTW, does confusion still insta-kill tornato eles?
I saw 7k pop up from 1 meteor shower drop when I did this combo last night. Granted this combo only works in very large fights and for clearing camps. It can only be done once every 150 seconds and your mobility really sucks! It is also funny how people will try to stay away from you when you tornado in a fire field.

Nope, the skills are definitely seperate – skill #3 adds an additional knockback, caused by “debris”, that is fired at your target if they’re in range. If you watch the skill’s animation, you’ll sometimes see flying cows and things in the air – only after casting #3.
Skills #1 and #2 also only activate when you select them, and fire out projectiles (bouncing lightning or dust devils) just after each tick – but you’ll always be launching every 3 second tick, unless your foe has stability or you are blinded.

2-6k are normal hits on decent enemy from tankier eles.
4-8k are normal hits on decent enemy from glassier eles.
10k above it´s usualy uplevelled player.
20k above it´s uplevelled player and your´re stacked on might.

I hope u are doing sarcasm. If you dont meteornado, then all of those stats are absolutely wasted in tornado. And it is not short cd.
My meteor shower already hits from anywhere from 5K-9K without Tornado.. I wonder what it would do with it activated. I usually run with fiery great sword as it’s a great escape tool so I’m really unsure if 4s of buffed meteor every 2.5 min is worth giving that up. I also think it’d be pointless for Anet to nerf it in anyway due to it’s limited use
