and here an example match:

now i was wondering if anyone perhaps could give me some small feedback if possible.. comments on the build, tips and tricks.. anything would be great.
(more direct link to the build if you have no intention to go to the site my guide has been placed on: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEMQFAWhImibyx5gjEAkHn4CLhCKMKESRxM7A;TkAA1CtoAzAmAMLYOwkgNEB)
I get ‘bad link’ on your last link.
Copy paste worked for me.
This is pretty much the build i run when i play Staff.
Pretty much exactly the same as the staff build i’ve been using except for I put the 10 you have in fire into arcane for the spell thats cast at the end of dodge, i think the trait is called evasive arcana. I would suggest trying this just because each of the 4 spells you can get from it gives you a combo blast finisher which works really well with the staffs fire/ice/water/lightning fields and overall lack of combo finishers to use with them (6 combo fields and only one combo finisher in this build, and it takes forever to go off – earth #2 skill) The 3 stacks of might on cantrip is gonna give you at most 9 might in a fight but you can easily get that by dodging into your fire fields a few times. Takes some practice to use to its full extent, I still feel like i suck at it but it is definitely a fun trait so I recommend trying it.
Probably gonna give it a try ( I have nothing to lose lol )
But I think we might get different results when we play with random
i’d imagine any random thief would wreck you… amirite?
Feedback is hard because game play footage was so one sided, I was looking too see if the build has the same ‘control’ power as dagger but can’t really tell.

Nope, Thief is quite easy if you know when to avoid the burst.. combine that with alot of dodging, place down areas and keeping him slowed with the earth and water spells.. its quite easy.
heartseeker > any kind of slow, I absolutely hate dagger thieves
im happy that youve found a build that made you happy, let me know how it turns out vs players that actually knows how to play.

This type of response is just the worst.
It comes from a jaded player trying to ruin a good post from someone trying to help the community and likely isn’t very good at the class to begin with.
OP thanks for taking the time to create this post for us all to enjoy.

Click on WarKeeper’s name to see his other posts. They’re all pretty much like this. I think he is the best Guild Wars 2 player on the planet, and no one else knows anything in comparison. On top of that, he’s a real class act. :-)

however, the flavor of the month for thieves right now seems to be stealth + steal + quickness + pistol whip you to death (well, not to death, but it’ll certainly take away most of your HP before you can react unless you’ve magically got shocking aura up)
the thing is… when done right, you won’t even notice the thief until he’s busy slashing you in half. yes, eventually it’ll almost guaranteed to be nerfed heavily, but for now…
also, after this ambush, you’ll be at 20-40% hp. even though the thief is geared towards pure damage, i can’t imagine a staff user being able to fight a full hp thief let alone fighting at 20-40% hp, as staff’s 1v1 viability is rather abysmal.
