I’m level 80 now with full exotics so I feel I can now give my thoughts on the profession.

The only thing I find to lack in the profession is the mix between range and melee. I have three other level 80’s, Warrior, Guardian and Mesmer. I never have a problem with range and melee because of their ability to weapon swap and they were designed well. Now I’m not saying, give the Elementalist the ability to weapon swap since that was replaced with attunement swapping, but at least give the Elementalist a weapon that has good range as well as up close combat.

The fiery great sword would be a good example of such a weapon. It has good distance attacks as well as up close attacks and defense. None of the other weapons, in my opinion, have a combination of both. Too bad the great sword was made into an elite weapon with a short time period of use and no attunement swaps ( none that I know of ).

Other than that, I dig the profession. It’s definitely a keeper.

Good assessment. I’ve said the same thing.

I had a decent idea a while back to give eles access to range, but I believe it was ignored.

This is the reason I use D/D. I find it able to fight range better than range can fight melee, if you know what I’m saying.

Some says Fiery GS is useless but I think it’s the most useful slot skill (Other than heal) that we can have. When I mastered it I can kill like 7+ enemies without even healing . I wish there’s a trait that’ll increase its duration.

PS. Fiery GS makes elementalists berserkers.

I do really like FGS. I think they should just get rid of the charges or timer on conjuers. 1 or the other I understand but not both. I would prefer the time over charges tbh. Picking up the other weapon in the middle of a fight is deadly if it is 1v1 or your outnumbered.

Imagine if Eles could use Great Swords, and their Great Sword was the Fiery Great Sword. The FGS is the best weapon in the game — it has the utility of Warrior’s GS with a kitten kitten auto attack and good range, as well as hit stacking ability against walls.

Just give us a kitten great sword already and replace the elite with something more appropriate.
