Need advice
Solo or are you running with teammates when you can?
If you’re playing solo then you will need decent sustain, as ele is light armor, low HP, you’ll need healing power and some toughness. You could run celestial dagger dagger or maybe cleric or soldier staff. Until you get tempest your survival will be core ele so having water and arcane trait lines will benefit you.
You could also run scepter focus with air trait line using fresh air and superspeed for good mobility, but you’ll have to kite well.

Yea, celestial is great for core ele solo PvE but it’s hard to obtain.
Try to go for a mix of offensive and defensive (power/prec/tough/vit/heal/fero you could get that with a mix of berserker and nomad or many other mixes) and get used to a arcane dd gameplay.
I’d recommend to not spend too much resources gearing your ele now.
A lot of things (including core ele) will change in the next month.
Its all good to get some exotic with karma, but don’t go spending too much to get ascended gear this month.
So pretty soon i’l have ele maxed out in level and i’l start farming hero points, so i need some advice as to what i should go for farming hero points and surviving and getting xp in pve.Doesn’t have to be a raid build or a fractal for now, just something that allows me to survive well in maguma.
With all honesty, there’s only one thing that makes you survive well in Maguuma – playing there and getting to know the enemies. And once you have that, you can simply go full glass and be fine.
You can use a mix of offensive and defensive stats as a crutch in the mean time. Just be prepared to still die when you make mistakes and don’t go overboard with defences. Celestial-level is fine. Anything more than that can be counter-productive, as you’d be increasing the time you need to kill an enemy, giving you more time to make mistakes. And many mistakes will still be lethal.
I had very little problem playing as ele in Maguuma. I use marauder armor instead of zerk, just for that little extra bit of health, and it’s enough. If you dont do raids or dungeons with pugs you don’t have to min-max everything. Just go for what works for you.
But stay away from stats like knights if you are power built. It might seem like a good idea at first but sacrifices way too much power.
