Got a question for you all. I’m a thief running together with a friend of mine who is elementalist. He’s not on these forums so I’m asking this question is his play.

We’re lvl 70 now, soon to be hitting lvl 80. My friend runs an elementalist and likes
to play d/d. Our goal is to roam around together in WvW . As this is his only character and I never played elementalist our end-game knowledge for ele’s is zero.

My question is if someone can hand us a d/d build for WvW (d/f if d/d is underpowered in WvW) that plays pretty good in WvW.

He doesn’t have a lot of money to make his gear superior so it would be great if you could take that into advice (don’t know if it matters but maybe some runes are cheaper then the ones you would advice but give pretty good performance)

Soldier gear is a good alternative if you dont have enough money or zerker, or celestial. When your lvl 80 make sure to get runes of strength so that you have enough power to handle sustain while hitting hard.

I would suggest getting to lvl 80 first before you roam, because most people who roam in wvw are lvl80 with pretty high end gear. But anyway have fun

That’s a cheap alternative. Pack runes are like 2.60 on TP though. Otherwise use Citadel.

Your mate should consider to going for Powerful Auras (water 12) to support you, or get the Water 11 to clean conditions from himself. In a small scale battle someone has to have poison! So consider this too!

Okay thanks for the hint guys. One thing I don’t understand. The weapon sigils you guys recommend describe as “when swapping to this weapon, get…”.

Elementalists can’t swap, so is the sigil applied the moment you enter combat? Or how does it work?

Attunement swap or if we talk about engineer the “flamethrower”… etc swap is considered as a weapon swap. Even if you equip a bundle item like a “Rock” is a weapon swap…
