I looking for some constructive input on this build I’m working on. I recently pulled my Ele out of the locker. I haven’t played it in a while since I was busy grinding WXP ranks on my main. I’m looking to put together something that has some good support from water but also good damage from fire and might. After some theory crafting using stuff I had in the bank I came up with this.

Like I said, this is an Alt and don’t know all the intricacies of the class. Any suggestions on how to improve it?

You’re running a build similar to mine, which is also an alt designed primarily for WvW. I moved the 20 points you have in Fire into Air. Bolt to the Heart nets nearly as much damage as Internal Fire, as it applies regardless of current attunement. In addition, that allows you to use Inscription. This is a fantastic trait for anyone who likes GoEH, allowing permaswiftness and other on-demand buffs.

Interesting build, I was wonder how the survivability is with 1500 toughness and only 14.7K health (19.3k effective health). I main a warrior and am used to seeing EHP in the 30-40k range although I guess as a staff Ele you shouldn’t be taking a ton of damage from the backline. The reason I ask is that I am wondering if I should trade of my vitality for more power/prec/crit or maybe even condition damage.

Edit:

After some testing I found that I wasn’t stacking enough might to make much of a difference. I opted to give up some vitality and went with 2 hoelbrak 2 strength and 2 pirate runes and replaced 1 of my accessories. With this set up I can easily maintain 10 to 14 stacks of might in combat which puts my effective power somewhere between 3500 and 3700 while still keeping an EHP of 22k.
