I fought an ele earlier this morning and now I need some clarification about what happened.

I’m playing a condition ranger/druid with sword/torch and axe/dagger. The ele was guarding a base and mostly in earth or water attunement.
It was almost impossible for me to get him below 90%.

I remember elementalist having a skill called diamond skin which clears them off conditions if health stays above 90%?
Does it still work that way?

The other question coming to my mind is how did he keep up regeneration for a very long time. He had this buff almost the whole fight.

Last but not least, how do I counter it or is there a way to interrupt the regeneration or is it a passive?

No. Not without boon strip. We have multiple sources of regen that can be cycled to extend the duration. When we run a healing power amulet, the ticks from that and soothing mist are pretty high. It’s the only thing that keeps us viable.

You have to build for it though and give up a lot of damage.

More importanly, if they are using shouts, they have access to many auras. Each aura with healing power offers a decent amount of health back. I think its like 1.2k? You might be better off moving along, if your not with another teammate. You should have an opportunity to +1 somewhere. However if they are trying to take the point from you. its likely you can fight them forever on it since they do little to no damage.

You honestly shouldn’t really be able to kill this ele unless you can pay close attention to his CD’s and burst at the right time (assuming he makes a mistake). If you aren’t too familiar with the build, that probably won’t happen.

However, this ele probably had almost 0 damage. If he already controlled the point, you should still be able to get a decap (if you are longbow) by setting up your knock-back then an immob/cc. If you can’t decap, the proper response depends on the team comp. If that is the only ele the other team has, you are better to 1v1 endlessly on-point and let your team-mates win in teamfights. That ele does more for his team (in a teamfight) than you do for yours. You can try leaving, but if he follows then just head back to the point. You could even be tricky and utilize your superior mobility to get a decap.

However, if they have another ele and you won’t be able to decap, just move on so you can add your own fire-power to that of your team.
