New Player Elementalist
Warriors and guardians are the true professions. Elementalists were designed to be their pets and sacrificed at their masters wishes. Last week I asked a tPvP team if I could join.
They said they´re sure I´m a good player, but they´d rather take a ranger pet, without the ranger, then an elementalist due to survivability issues…
Now seriously: Elementalist was good at launch, a bit too good actually. Arenanet nerfed us but has since not forgotten the tradition of including one elementalist nerf per patch. Its a tradition…
A warrior rolls his face on the keyboard.
A elementalist plays the attunement “piano” perfectly and dies.

In a pve setting elementalists have more utility than other professions. We lack upfront combat unless soecced for it. Its stupid to go dagger dagger full zerker and expect to come out of a melee blob. The thing about us is our specs revolve mostly around our weapon choice. Elementalists have the one of the highest damage spikes in the game but we sacrafice reliable survivability for it. Warriors csn get close to the same survivability and maintain its defensive stats. This is where the qq warriorfest comes from. Its when dev vision doesn’t meet class balance
Bad Elementalist
I agree with both of you (FrowneyClown and Blimm) I like the versatility of the Elementalist, but I feel like I’m constantly fighting for my life in PvE, despite my weapon choice while certain classes can just breeze through. It seem ridiculously unbalanced and kind of unfair. They have such a low survivability.
Its more like if we use a ranged weapon we are stuck with it in melee range. They need to add a strafe vackwards option to the game. The amount of gap closers other classes have make distance no real advantage
