This is what I’m going to do as well, considering I’ve played ele since release.

what nerf are you talking about?
If determined players can still run the D/D build after the nerf, that means Anet did it right. Back in GW1, Anet nerfed the touch ranger for example.
Still a very viable build. Other players not built with some basic defensive skills to get away from or otherwise disable the toucher would still fall.
Same principle here, I would hope. We’ll see.
What are you talking about ? I havent seen any upcomming patchnotes. If i missed something than plz post it for me.
The ele ist not OP not on paper not even in the game. The defs know that, so why are you affraid? Lowest dps, hp , armor, lowest basic heal. A warriors heal makes more than 8k yours do 5k.
The only thing that beats the Opponet is the palystyle and skill or lets better say the missing skill.

I think Anet did this solely because they saw the “4v30” video, which is total non-sense. The party have communication, they have a strategy, they have geographic advantages. Furthermore, the zerg can simply force the party into water if they wanted to, it’s just that mob mentality goes off and no one dares to lead in first.
oh yeah read it. If they nerf aoe damage down without giving the ele a hugh amount of singel target damage. Than ill play another class that ist better. It would make the ele not competetive in smalescale or solo play.
Funny how they’re nerfing AoE skills so players don’t spam AoE to kill enemies in dungeons etc. They seem to have forgotten they made every skill on a staff ele AoE.

I can’t really see how they’d nerf d/d without making it completely unplayable. (I mean literally unplayable. Not whining unplayable)
Seriously, what could they really do? Decrease the radius of churning earth? That’s fine, I use it with lightning flash anyway. Make burning speed travel a shorter distance? Eh, no biggie.

If they make D/D into the “single target” option I would laugh since that would probably make us stronger… alas I’m dreaming and that will never happen.
Maybe across the board damage nerf and reduced AoE range? Lightning whip would be funny if they bugged it even more.

I want to see them nerf lightning whip since it’s got an AOE component.
Just for comedy purposes. Seeing lightning whip get nerfed in patch notes and considering “Someone thought this was TOO GOOD”. Then years later, long after leaving the game, I can think back to when someone nerfed lightning whip and get a giggle.

I m quite tired of unnecessary and unasked nerfs…..
all they do is nerf here nerf there…
They don t care if a class becomes unplayable, their priority is nerf…..ppl is kitten off already from their previous débâcle…..they should just stop touching this game….
Every single patch they make it worse somehow…
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
I wonder now if staff is still going to be viable after the nerf?
I think going back to scepter may be better now, At least it can get single target damage in. At least. I think.
Oh well, may as well live with the nerf.
Dragonstooth nerf incoming
The upcoming patches will practically mean:
Elementalist are now no longer a major profession in GW2. If you can find a way to play an Elementalist effectively, you may play one, but you are only limited to LA. Elementalist are banned from entering WvW and PvP. Dungeons now will auto-kick Elementalist from any party entering them.
I don’t know if I can bring myself to not play me Elementalist any longer. I’ve got a 80 thief, mesmer, guardian and levelling a warrior when the urge takes me, but giving up on a class I’ve played the vast majority of my time since BWE1 is a really tough call to make.
Maybe I’ll be one of the last Elementalist’s still standing, I’ve worked my butt off, weathered the plethora of nerfs during beta, had my hopes dashed through our darkest hours and still love her.

We’re just conditioned to expect the worst thanks to our history of nerfage.
Fixed a bug with lightning whip: Removed the unintentional hit chance from this ability, it now only misses and is used for visual effect
On another note I would like to see the: removed unintentional blast finishers from EA, logic applied to guardian wall skills: Removed unintentional knockdown off guardian wall skills. Because being trapped in kd at the epicenter of one of those walls it BS. So is getting kd from a “you shall not pass wall”

History has proven otherwise. So, we already expected the worst and even more. Patches after patches, it is just nerf,nerf,and more nerf. There was never much buff. Just fixes (not to be mistaken as buff).

We didn’t need buffs and many of those ‘nerfs’ were also fixes (EA blasting every time even when the spell didn’t go off was idiotic, it’s balanced now).

I don’t know if you know about the massive damage nerf or not. But undo that and I’ll give up my d/d for sure and go back to avatar scepter.

So strong that even drag’s tooth>flamestrike>fire grab can be a killing burst. The thing is about it though, is that it was just a blanket nerf to all damage down to ~54% instead of individually evaluating each skill. So it could have been done a bit better imo.

I did not participate in BWE’s, but when I first made my ele ages ago, the impression I got from how freakin ridiculously squishy they were was that they once did a lot more damage, were nerfed, and are now stuck without enough damage to justify the terrible survivability.
I’m glad to see the hard numbers to confirm I was correct.
The questions are: Are they nerfing their dmg or only the number of targets it can hit? Are they going to buff/remake other traits?
Why to play another class after nerf? everybody finds something good and go backs and play it. I remember when I came back from my break they said don’t play elementalist is too complicated, is not worth it and ended up being so good and cool, the bunker build had arrived.
