So, I’ve been playing sPVP as a D/D, i really like the playstyle, but for leveling may not be the best weapon to kill a pack of mobs or range atacks.

I have a lvl 80 warrior and I can say Greatsword is a “must have” for leveling.

So, which weapon you guys is the best for leveling my Ele?

D/D is fine, really the most trouble will just be not having your traits in the early levels.

If you’re dying a bunch the focus has some great defensive abilities. If you’re still having trouble you can just stay in pvp and skip the annoying levels with tomes.

What do I need to do to make my fingers not hurt with the constant attunement switching that’s needed with leveling as a D/D? And no, I don’t have a Naga/G600/leet mmo mouse.

I like scepter for open world questing because it eats up groups of trash mobs with its fire AOEs. Eles are squishy and in this game you often can’t avoid fighting groups at a time in the open world, unlike other games I’ve played.

Also dagger off hand Churning Earth skill with the guaranteed five crits arcane skill can one shot lots of trash mobs.

Other than having enough aoes, and using Earth Elemental to tank hard veterans/elites for you all you really need is speed skills for covering ground.

QER,Shift+E, Shift+R weapon skills
XCVB attunement swap
Shift+Space, Ctrl+Space, Ctrl+Shift+Space utility skills
3 Healing
5 elite

Play all of them. Staff, d/d, s/f, and d/f (s/d isnt used much, but you can try it too). Staff is probably the “easiest”, but all sets are used for something endgame, and you dont want to get there and have no idea what 3/4 of your weapon abilities do, especially when some skills (burning speed, dragons tooth, ect.) take a bit of getting used to. Also dont get used to camping 1 attunement. You can go from 1-80 with staff without leaving fire, but again, if you do that youll get to 80 and have no idea what the rest of your abilities are.

Also it sucks that you cant play around with traits as much now, as a lot of the ele grandmaster traits (fresh air/EA/persisting flames/ect.) are key in certain builds, but at least try to play around with adept/master traits as you go so you get used to those too.

Nope. My muscle memory is too strong to move any keys…it was drilled into my brain what keys where were that if I tried rebinding them now, I would end up dead and frustrated.
