Ele has seen it’s ups and downs- the worst being pre April 15th patch 2015
and then came the celestial era which ascended ele into godhood essentially – but when it comes to build diversity the only viable one they have is a heal bot.
Some like being a healing tool but it’s not my cup of tea.
Why is ele being pushed into a corner with only 1 useful build.
It’s like you have no damage, but you can last in a 1v2 until a team mate comes to join. and you better hope your team is good enough to last without you.

No classes have any build diversity after the expansion. At most some classes like warrior had two builds but now warrior has zero builds because the best warrior build currently gets outperformed by naked revenants.

DH has three at the moment. While balance between classes is mostly OK each has one maybe two best builds. But it depends on hwo you look at it. 5 man premade or solo makes a diffrence.

DH has 4 actually: Medibow, Symbol, Shattered Aegis, and Burn.

Then you have my mesmer build which just bombs teamfights and runs Paladin, along with no Portal/Blink since taking one of those ruins the fight potential.

You can’t use some obscure build that you use as evidence of build diversity. Also Burn guard is awful after patch because it has no cover conditions.

I see more burn DH in plat than I do Symbolic and Shatter Aegis guards put together.
Also burn DH does in fact have cover condis.

Also we all know warrior is in a bad spot, but please stop trying to drag discussions about other classes into the abyss of your despair.

Basic idea is: pop glyph and arcane power in fire, burning speed, drakes breath, arcane heal….and they melt, esp b/c people don’t expect an ele to do damage, and especially not to do condi damage.
