How does any Ele feel about Obsidian Focus? should the way it functions be changed to do something else, or should it function better with more skills? or should something else take its place?
The only thing I see it doing is if you have Vigorous Scepter, Zephyrs Focus and Obsidian Focus and all you’re doing is running around in circles spamming Arc Lightning or something useless like that :P

all the channeled skills that are affected by O.F and zephyrs focus are ether renewal, ride the lightning (oddly), churning earth, obsidian flesh(oddly as well…), cone of cold, drakes breath, meteor shower, lightning surge and glyph of renewal, earth shield, frost bow and flame wave(FGS)

I feel like obsidian focus and zephyr’s focus should be combined. Right now, you have to dump 20 points into two different trees in order to pick up things that only benefit channeled abilities, which can be inconvenient to spec around.

Currently, I think they’re most valuable in conjunction with ether renewal. Having the extra toughness is nice when you’re trying to heal yourself through incoming damage, and the endurance regeneration essentially allows you to “heal” your endurance as well.

Using them with a scepter is a little weird because you can already give yourself vigor from renewing stamina, or just take the vigorous scepter trait for passive endurance regeneration. This makes zephyr’s focus mostly redundant as you basically have to constantly be channeling arc lightning. I guess you can maybe do that quite frequently in conjunction with fresh air, but that sort of build doesn’t have access to the other skills OF and ZF apply to (i.e. meteor shower, cone of cold, lightning surge, &c.).

If they combined them together, the trait itself would be much more valuable as a whole (letting it compete better with things like zephyr’s boon, bolt to the heart, and earth’s embrace), and you’d have much more flexibility in the other stuff you could put in the build without feeling like you’re only getting half of the benefit on your channeled skills.

Then they would have to make some kind of new trait or something to fill the void, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Obsidian Focus is quite ok for D/D.

Obsidian Focus procs from Drake’s Breath, Cone of Cold, Ether Renewal, Churning Earth, in all situation that you are vulnerable, it is effective.

Only problem is it is directly competing with Elemental Shielding with the number of auras D/D has, is 400 armor is better or %33 DR from protection?

why not use both? although it would take up 10 more points

If I go 20 to Earth I will get Rock Solid, that trait rocks….
