The Mesmers have their own Guild. For TPvP and other means.
Do we as elemental spell casters have one? If not we need one. It could greatly benefit our profession.
It was tried and it was failed.
I would have join!
Go for it. Just keep in mind, the most important parts of creating a guild like this are:
a) Good, active leader[s] which keep the invites going and knowledgeable about the game’s mechanics. It would be best to have a leader with two accounts for both NA and EU, or one leader in each region.
b) Snazzy name. The original “Eletists” worked a bit, but maybe an acronym like OMFG[Official Mesmer Forum Guild] would be better. Make it something easy on the mind, so I don’t think a OEFG would be good since it sounds kind okittenward and wrong. One suggestion on my end is “EA” for Elementalist Association.
c) Open community. The only condition to joining was wanting to join. Don’t try making your guild do WvW content, or else it’ll exclude people. For same reason, make no restraint on the server it’s based in.
Just a bit of advice if you’re wanting to start this.
I would join it.
Well, back at the launch of GW2 I tried to get members of the gwonline.net community to be part of a Elementalist centric guild, but the turnout was pretty low, so it was disbanded and never really popped up again.
Part of the problem why profession specific focus groups are no big deal in GW2 is that a lot of stuff is highly focused on efficiency these days and less on fun. A group of Eles (if you happen to get a party) will e.g. be much slower in completion of a dungeon or a fractal with Condi gear than in Berserker/Celestial. It is also hard to pull off “snowflake” builds, because the meta is so set in stone (look at the supremacy of Cantrips in any competitive environment)
The next technical aspect would be that GW2 has limited us to a few guilds and I guess most of us have their slots filled up already.
Go for it, if you want to try, but don’t be surprised if the idea doe snot take off.
