What are your thoughts on these two traits?
Do you think they should be re-designed or changed?

In my opinion, flame barrier isn’t of any use at all and both are just traits that are a leftover from a time when of the class was previewed. Seriously, look it up, there are previews that mention the elementalist causing mayhem when attuning to each element, punishing people when they hit the ele, etc.

What’s bad is that both traits are based on getting hit—something that you don’t want happening with the low base armor and health.

What’s worse is that one trait increases the effectiveness of the other trait over time while attuned to one element yet the elementalist is expected to change attunements often.

Flame barrier and one with fire, in my opinion, should be reworked or replaced because they offer no defensive, offensive, or support benefits at all. Besides, what can a one second burn do to a melee attacker-assuming the RNG is in your favor and actually triggers?

Edit: Also, op, do you think you can add " :Thoughts " to your title so it can be a bit more clear?

Just updated it.

Flame Barrier and One with Fire should be reworked just like every other trait with a 1 or 2 rating.

I reckon they should turn Flame Barrier into a trait which has 100% chance of causing burning (maybe 2 or 3 seconds) when hit in melee, with a slight cd on it, and One With Fire could be combined with Ember’s Might, increasing the burn duration of Barrier by 100% and overall burns by 33% (still being fairly useless but maybe useful for some weird ele condi build). After all necros and engis cause 4 seconds of burn in a random crit every 10 seconds, so I don’t see why ele shouldn’t have the same option.

Let’s face it you’re not going to be in fire attunement for long and definitely not while you’re absorbing damage in melee, so this needs to be a lot stronger/reliable for players to start investing into Fire Magic.

Having traits that proc on getting hit on the class with least HP and armor is already a joke. Then having that proc being offensive instead of defensive makes it even more ridiculous.

I think they have potential but they way they are implemented now doesn’t work.

Move burning precision down to the 5 point in fire change to every kittens replace burning precision with a supreme justice type trait so that it procs every 3rd hit not need for crit allowing cleave application. If it was like permeating wraith though it would be really good procing 240 radius AOE around the Ele burning for 1 second. I’d put 5 points in fire for that with lingering elements synergy. Probably to strong for 5 point but Adept wouldn’t be to bad.
