This profile requires both Motionjoy and Xpadder and use Motionjoy to change emulate X360 controller for your PS3 controller.
Basically, I’m a console gamer and I used Toddmd2’s profile till Halloween.
And I made this profile for Xpadder as it’s more convenient to me as a hardcore WvW player.
F1= D Pad Up
F2= D Pad Right
F3= D Pad Down
F4= D Pad Left
1= Square Swap weapons= Hold Square
2= Triangle 8= Hold Triangle
3= Circle 9= Hold Circle
4= L1 7= L1
5= R1 0= Hold R1
6= R3 Call Target= Hold R3
Evade, V= L3 Air Dodge= L2+L3
Map, M= Select Inventory, I= Hold Select
F= Start Hero Panel, H= Hold Start
Click=R2 K, Keybind for TS3 Press-to-Talk= Hold R2
To move the mouse instead of camera= Hold L2

I use 7 for Lightning flash, so I can move the camera while casting it. The delay between activating skill while holding is 0.2 of a sec.

I`ve seen keyboard turning/clicking melee players…
But now I`ve seen everything, I`m shocked this`d work.

What is it like in 1v1s etc though?

It’s just as good as fighting in Teams, not a problem there. I don’t really have any problems doing 1v1s with it. I’ve managed to beat everything within the boundries of what’s reachable as a skilled elementalist, though I rarely 1v1 anymore.

I did. The slow turning speed bothered me and the ground targetting either rarely or improperly. I can’t imagine you pulling off an earthquake/flash or flash/updraft.

Try this: ice bow 5 -> fgs 4/flash on enemy location -> earth 4/3

If you can’t do it, then I can’t imagine any more of the standard combos being possible with a controller setup.

Plus, you’re taking advantage of the fact that dd ele’s have tons of pbaoe’s and minimal need for figure/ground targetting. Try a profession like engineer or thief. Guardian. Hell, any class that needs active targetting.

In small group fights, targetting the right person will take time and/or luck. Simply clicking on a desired target is much easier.

Sure, but can you quickly target people, as I mentioned several times?

You completely missed the point about fgs/flash. It’s not whether you have to do it, but if you can do it. You also didn’t mention whether you could do earthquake/flash though. You also disregard my example using the engineer as support for my argument that you are not using a targetting-intensive profession because “you posted in the elementalist forums, not engie”. Making kitten arguments by cherry picking my post is insulting when I’m trying to facilitate a real discussion.

Please address all of the issues in my post. I did go through the trouble of outlining all the major problems of a controller setup for you.

Doing Earthquick is the same as doing FGS4+LF, I thought you’d make sense of what I said since you can do both comboes the same way(Like Ring of Warding and Judge’s Intervention, I’d say doing FGS4+LF takes a bit more “skill” since it requires some sort of timing than Earthquake+LF). I’m sorry if my answer to your engi question upsets you, I don’t play anything other than elementalist. I also have no problem targetting, but I wouldn’t say it’s faster than a mouse. But, differences are made with how much skill you have rather than on who has the best gaming mouse or keyboard.
