I’m Tempest Auramancer with Tempest, Water and Arcane. In the past I’ve been using Cleric Amulet with Thief rune to cover Power and Precision with the huge bonus in healing power. The results are basically a bunker build. I can survive tons of damage but it takes a while to return the favor.

Has anyone else found any rune and amulet combo’s that change the way the build is played? Bunker is fun but I’m more interested in good damage with good defense and can’t find that exact middle.

good damage with good defense kinda doesn’t exist for ele
but you could try mender’s amulet with soldier’s rune

or paladin amulet with rune of the grove?

Try mercenary or sages. The condition damage mixed with the power is pretty strong on elementalist when you use the poison-y sigil and geomancy sigil. Overload fire a bunch and it’ll knock off those who are foolish enough to think you are running pure bunker.

On that note, ive been experimenting with chill based builds and I actually like it. Runes of grenth and hydromamcy sigils work better with reaper (duh), but ele’s ability to soft CC and trip up bunkers while being able to output group heals is something to think about?

Yep i tried mercanary and sage with soldier rune and both are good. While i realy like to play with diffrent runes i feel i canĀ“t give up soldiers in PvP. For a bit special builds lysa and leadership are options for me but soldier is just perfect if you use four shouts.
I did test a more damage build using a acuracy sigil and lyssa with mercenary and sage. You can even put a fire signet on the toolbar for a OK crit rate.

Ty guys. I went with Sage and guardian. Sage has great damage without giving up the healing. The toughness and healing buff from guardian helps boost the survivability. After getting used to it, I easily went through a win streak for ranked.

since were on the topic of pvp, im using auramance with soldiers and cleric, basically
copied exactly from mb,

i find im quite strong against most profs but condition damage seems to just eat me alive and if im stun locked, forget it.

so with that in mind, what are some build variants, under the auramancer umbrella
that would improve my ability to survive condi dmg and stuns?

and if u know, which other prof/build does auramancer synergize well with?

thanks

Here is how it works (not explained on metabattle):

If the other team has a lot of condi (or might have a lot of condi, such as 1 or more necros), you take cleansing water and invigorating torrents. Depending on the rest of the team comp, you can swap diamond skin for stone heart, or if you want MAX team cleanse take arcana instead of earth (with renewing stamina, any of the tier 2 depending on matchup, and evasive arcana) which gives you 2 more condi cleanse for yourself and team every 10s (water swap for regen, and water dodge roll cleanse/heal). If you take arcana, I actually really like arcane resurrection on aura builds, as it lets you secure some resses (10% faster res speed) and then gives an aura (often earth b/c you swap to earth to use obsidian flesh) + heal + cleanse/vigor for finishing it.

If the other team has a lot of power damage and not much condi, you can take powerful aura and harmonious conduit to spam out auras in support of your team. You might also swap to stone heart in place of diamond skin if they have a good amount of burst.

If the other team is just a lot of bruisers/power damage (tempests, scrappers, druids, and dragon hunters), you can take mender’s and swap out earth for air to grab fresh air and spam air overloads (and shocking aura) which will REALLY disrupt the other team. This also lets you take more swirling winds to really shut down DH’s and bow druids).

If you aren’t sure, you are guaranteed to be very effective for your team with cleansing water/invigorating torrents as that lets you completely shut down all condi, and is still useful for cc conditions and vigor if the other team doesn’t have any. If you take powerful aura against a condi team, you leave your team more vulnerable as auras aren’t all that great against condis. Please note, your auras heal others aoe even if you don’t share that aura with them, so you don’t really lose team support by not taking powerful aura.

and if u know, which other prof/build does auramancer synergize well with?

Auramancers work GREAT with scrappers in teamfights, as you have blasts for his water fields and cover him with the cleanses he needs. He has stealth and stuns to peel for you when focused, as well as even MORE healing. In 2v2’s, auramancer works really well with just about any dps spec (power rev, scrapper, daredevil, even warrior), although necros are harder to support because you have to pay close attention to whether they are in shroud or not. Using auras while they are in shroud does them no good, and many necros tank down to near-dead then ride their life force down before they eventually get killed.

@blackbeard, ty so very much for the detailed reply. I will certainly be putting this into practice. I can already tell this will be a great boost to my game play as your reply has
help to point me towards excellent choices to make during the pre game window.
